Am I insane? I must be going crazy to want to willingly put myself danger by going on this raid, risking my life, the leadership of the pack, and a complete breakdown, but something inside me is pulling with the need to go with Thane. To protect. Call it my wolf’s instinct, or insanity. I sit here in the library combing through ancient texts of the Midnight Pack and have found nothing about white wolves. I remember vaguely learning about our heritage but my parents had no concern that my sister and I would ever be chosen wolves, so they didn’t teach much on it. I know there has be information out there somewhere, it just isn’t within the library of this pack.
“ Has the Queen of the pack found anything about her zombie mind control powers yet?” Cyrus asks as he saunters in and takes a seat across from me. “No, I haven’t found anything and I don’t have mind–control powers.” I tell him while letting out a little laugh. l’enjoy his light–heartedness. “How do you know? I have no mind- control powers Cyrus,” I tell him and he lets out a breath he probably didn’t know he was holding. Well, that makes me feel a little better, but if you get any, please let me know in advance.” “Sure thing Cyrus.” “So, Thane tells me you are bent on coming on this raid with us.” “I am. I’m not going to lie and say that I am not scared but I have this ability and I have a feeling here… I point to my chest and here..” I point to my head. “To be there with him and use my gifting to help. I want to help these girls too and I want to help keep Thane safe.” “You know, Thane won’t be able to think straight if you are there. He will won’t let me come either if you don’t go. He would want me to stay here with you and keep you safe, but I want to be with him on this raid. He would task me with keeping you safe if you go though. When I am on a raid, I think about getting in, killing, and getting out. I am not thinking about anything else. He will order me to do whatever it takes to keep you safe. The thought of leaving Thane or anything happening to him makes my stomach sink, but gives me more validation that I should be going to use my gifting. “I ‘m not going to lie Ayla, I would like to see your shield in the field, but I don’t want you dying just so I can see what it can do.“Cyrus tells me as he plays with one of the books on the table. “I don’t want anything to happen either Cyrus, but I want to help. I want to help these girls. I don’t want to worry about Thane or anyone else when I could be there helping.” “Well, I am curious as to what the shield can do. Why don’t we go to Thane’s office and tell him that despite all the gore filled battle stories he sent me here to share with you, that you were adamant and going anyway. ” “But you didn’t tell me any stories. ” I question confused. “I know, I want to see what that shield can do and I don’t want to stay behind, so lets pretend shall we Miss Luna of the pack. If he says anything, I told you about the time I had to gouge out someone’s eyes ” I smile and shake my head as we head out to Thane’s office.
Entering his office, I give one look to Thane and can already see that he isn’t too happy with us. Cyrus has a huge grin on his face and Thane has a scowl. He must be able to tell by our expressions that his attempt to keep me here didn’t work. I push warmth and peace through the bond and earn a warm smile. He opens his arms and motions for me to sit on his lap. I don’t really know the other shifters here, but if they are Thane’s elite team and he trusts them, so do I.

We just finished our preliminary planning of it.” “He did and I still want to go. I look down at his desk and see a brown folder with things written on it. I don’t know my role and if I should be sticking my nose in things on his desk. Yes I am the luna, but I am also new to this pack and sort of luna in training. Very slow training. this the new raid stuff?” I ask him and he brings my hair off of my shoulder and gives it a little kiss. “Yes little wolf. The first two the sight itself. The last photo is the shifter we believe is responsible. I slowly open the folder. The first few photos, I don’t recognize, but the last photo has me in denial. Fear. Confusion. Shock. This has to be a cruel joke.
