Chapter 242

Ayla
“Oh my gosh look how shaggy your hair was!” I gasp at the next photo of Thane with long hair. Not expected from the son of an Alpha. Despite his awkward teen–pup years, Thane was incredibly attractive. He was lean with a head that he needed to grow into, but hot
regardless.
Don’t even get me started on his football pants.
There are hardly any dimple photos though, clearly not amused by all the photos his mother must have taken throughout the years, as
indicative by his lack of smiling.
“Yeah, I had a good run refusing to show my forehead p>
“Cyrus and his mohawks.” I giggle.
“He thought they made him look tuff.” I turn the page and find myself looking at an older Thane.
“Thane, your dad p>
“Don’t.” He interrupts.
“Was p>
“I don’t want to hear it.” He interrupts again.
“Hot p>
“And there it is.” He shakes his head and flips the page so I can no longer admire the photos of his much younger father shirtless,
“I bet you heard that a lot growing up p>
“I did p>
“Obviously, I find you more attractive.” And clearly, his mother really, really, found his father attractive.
“I would hope so.” I keep turning the pages and see a pattern developing.
“There’s so many of them. Your mother must p>
“Nope p>

“This one is zoomed in p>
“Not happening.” He interrupts.
“I don’t think those are shorts…” I raise my eyebrows at the photo of Thane’s father clearly in boxer briefs looking down at the camera while between very feminine looking legs. A younger Thane probably had no idea what this photo signified.
“My eyes are burning…” Thane grumbles.
“Well, you can’t blame p>
“Not thinking about it.” Thane answers, turning the page again.

“I would be very careful attempting to watch any home movies p>
“I’m going to vomit p>
As our time has gone on, Thane has physically become more comfortable, but emotionally he seems heavier. His body tenses when more of his sister’s photos come into view. Thane’s jaw tightens and I notice he is lost, staring at a photo instead of looking at them all.
It’s like that with each book we have gone through.
“I can take these home some time and finish looking at them. I think I want to go check on Raven now.” I smile and close the book, attempting to keep my concern unnoticed.
“Are you sure?” Thane asks while simultaneously closing the book, ready for it to be over.
“Yeah, I think I’m getting tired.” Not necessarily a lie.
“We can decide when to go through it all. Maybe picking a sale day first would keep me in the flow p>
“I think we can take what we want out, but I don’t want to get rid of it yet.” I don’t think deep down Thane wants to get rid of it either. He just doesn’t want to process the emotional pain of it all and I don’t blame him.
Plus, with starting our own family. Our pups may want to know this world of his.
The one that was stolen from him and in turn, them too.
“Whatever you want.” Thane stands quietly and helps me from the couch. He grabs the stack of albums from the coffee table, and just as quietly as we arrived, we leave the house with them, driving to the dungeon that is getting easier for me to think about.
Not sure how I feel about that.
Cyrus and Raven are outside waiting for us when we pull in. Based on their appearance, I think that was Thane’s suggestion.

They’re covered in blood. The dark clothing conceals a lot, but their skin does not.
Aramana is appeased.

Cyrus leans against the building with his foot on the wall behind him, picking under his nails with a knife while Raven sits against the wall, watching us pull in. Thane parks and helps me out of the car as Raven stands while Cyrus watches her every move as if he is afraid the ground itself will steal her away.
“I really want to hug you…” I held my hands in front of me, clasped in front of my chest, attempting to restrain them from reaching for her. My words say ‘I want to love on you‘ but my face says another.
“No touching.” Thane interrupts.
“But I won’t. How are all your wounds now?” Not that I could tell where her blood started and theirs ended.
“Almost healed. Just sore from the accident p>
“Are they still alive?” Thane asks Cyrus, nodding toward the dungeon.
“Well, they were when we left. I cut Trevor’s sack open though; he has no balls.” Cyrus eyes flare as he smiles wide.
“Like he wasn’t born with any? ” I say shocked. Maybe that is why Raven was mated to him. She doesn’t want pups, and he can’t make
them.
“Like I cut them out.” Cyrus looks at me like I am the disturbed one. “They hang from these long ass noodles….” Raven laughs.
“Ew. ” I interrupt.
“That’s enough…” Thane cuts him off. I may lose my…. I realize I haven’t eaten in a while and need to remedy that. I also need to find another craving because nothing sounds good anymore.
“I am still mad you were taken, but relieved you are back which reminds me…” I reach down the top of my shirt and pull out the fattened opossum who hisses at Thane as I pass him toward his parents. “He just ate, and I will knit him a new blanket.” Thane sighs loudly.
Yeah, the opossum is going nowhere.
Raven and Cyrus are ecstatic to have their pet fur baby back. “I was so upset when I thought he was dead. I told them both I would kill them for it.” Raven holds the little fur ball in the palms of her hands, scratching it behind the ears before bringing it up toward her face. “I missed you so much. Yes, I did you little scootchy…. scootchy……scootchy… yes …oh I just want to rub you all over!” Raven baby talks her fuzzy tree opossum as Thane turns his head, looking down at me in bewilderment. His facial expression matches mine.
Raven baby talking.
Maybe she is concussed.

“I think I’m getting a new kink.” Cyrus lights up watching Raven love on their fur child.
“Time to go…” Thane sweeps me off the ground before I can protest and walks me to the car. I held onto his neck and pulled myself up to
look over his shoulder and see Raven straddling Cyrus in the parking lot.
Wow that didn’t take long.
I’m beginning to think each other is all they do.
Thane buckles me into his vehicle, and I can still feel his attempt at smothering his feelings through the bond. He needs an immediate laugh but also needs to deal with all the pain he has inside. I’m not the one who should talk, but I would rather help him work through
his grief.
He deserves it.
