I’ve compiled a to–do list that seems to keep growing, but I am starting to feel like I am making progress, which is exciting considering there is so much to do to prepare for the arrival of our pup. Which I frequently put off thinking about because the new mother jitters are real.
Approve Hottie Hostel blueprints done
Come up with a name for the Hottie Hostel
Remind Cyrus how much extra Thane had to pay to have all the debris from the hole in the ground removed done
Find pickles over them
Paint pups‘ room colors picked out
Train with Raven done
Befriend Amani working on it
Make a blanket for the opossum done
Make a new non–pink sweater for the opossum done
Make Raven name the opossum
Learn to drive sad
Learn to cook more partial sad, call kitchens, get help
Discuss inward shielding with Thane maybe
Housewarming gifts x2
Read Monica’s book,? motorcycle helmet–forest sex
Find out a ‘first‘ of Thane’s and surprise him need help

Kill bad guys partially completed
Get Damon and Cyrus to love each other. need help

I decided to throw a ‘read a dead she–wolf’s journal‘ party to speed up the process of trying to find out who her mate was / is. She journaled one to two times a day for ten years.

My New Normal
It is a lot of books.
However, only one of my extra helpers is reading, besides Thane and that would be Cyrus sitting on the floor, who is getting his curls ‘more defined‘ by his mate, who sits behind him on the sofa, who is getting her curls ‘more defined‘ my Amani who is sitting behind Raven on the back of the couch, who is
getting her braids taken out by her mate who is standing behind her.

Thane watches the hair train, probably contemplating how much his life has changed since we met. He went from a growly Alpha to having a home full of new family members and a mate growing a pup.
He also seems like he wants to throw everyone out of the house. I have to wonder if he tended to isolate himself before his sister’s death, or his parents.
“Oh man, did you know she saved some of your hair?” Cyrus laughs aloud.
“I’m aware,” Thane responds stoically while opening a journal.
“Did you know she was a Peeping Tom?” Cyrus asks Thane.
“I know now.” Thane shudders in the recliner.
“She stole your goldfish.” Weird.
“Yes, I heard that. She was also jealous of you.” Thane informs Cyrus.
“Who isn’t?” Cyrus shrugs his shoulder as he turns the page in the journal he is reading; however, it is before Della’s mating bond snapping into place because he wants to ‘catch up,‘ which is code for ‘find things to use against Thane p>
“Me,” Damon answers Cyrus. Thane groans, and I cringe, knowing what is coming.
“You should be kissing my ass, or I won’t give you my blessing to mark my sister,” Cyrus growls.
‘I don’t need your blessing,” Damon growls back.
“Well, it might be nice. I mean, he is the only normal family I have.” Amani says sweetly. You can hear the eagerness in her tone. The urge to know her brother better. Exciting.
HE IS NOT NORMAL,” Damon yells.
“Ew, I wouldn’t be with him if he were,” Raven interjects.
“Thanks, Fireball.” Cyrus tilted his head back to kiss his mate.
“No problem, sugar tits.” Raven pecks his lips before the rest of us say “Ew” in unison.
“Is it normal for us to argue so much?” I ask my newly crea
family, which is dysfunctional yet somehow manages to function.
“We don’t do normal here,” Cyrus says, and I nod my head in agreement. He’s right. Nothing has been normal.
How about instead of arguing
we throw around thoughts on the traitor. See if we can decide to focus on.” Thane suggests.
“We could, but we won’t be able to truly know what we are looking for until every book is read, Damon responds, moving to the other side of his mate’s head.

‘Maybe we should divide them and do a book report,” I suggest.
“Do a report about Thane’s muscles glistening in the sun? I’ll pass: Cyrus flips another page, resting back against Raven while she continues to get her hair worked on. Her wild and crazy curls have transformed into tight, wet ringlets.

I find it all fascinating and distracting.
“Her mate bond snapped into place at a football game. Probably her age then, roughly ours?” I ask, flipping my notebook to start a ‘Della Mate Conspiracy
Page‘, but cross out ‘Della‘ and write ‘Darcy‘ just because I can.
The more I read, the angrier I get at her anyway.
“Could be, but her mate could be older or younger. The mate bond snaps into place at 18, but that does not mean her mate was p>
“Mine was later. Raven interrupts.
“And a mistake. Cyrus laughs.
“True that.” Raven shoves her hand down her shirt and pulls out a squirmy opossum.
“Here, your kid needs to go outside and eat.” Raven hands her furry baby to Cyrus, who scratches him behind the ear before getting up to take him outside.
“I cannot believe nobody’s wolf has eaten that thing yet,” Thane says as Cyrus passes by him.
“You watch your filthy mouth.” Cyrus stops and points toward Thane.
I wonder if Thane always knew that his ‘adopted brother‘ would be his beta, or how that came about.
Better add finding out about that to my list.
And add finding out about Thane’s parents‘ full–time home. Where we live now was just their hidden lake cabin. Thane said they have a home within the pack somewhere, untouched.
I want to know.
“So we could look into people around our age, which doesn’t narrow it down,” I say as I write more on my to–do list. Thane made me take a break from the journals when he said all he could hear was me growling when I was reading them.

hair distraction. I feel like I am getting spacey. Forgetful and easily distracted.
“GOOD IDEA. HOW DO WE DO THAT?” I yell back to Thane.
“WE JUST CALL THE TOWN HALL TOMORROW AND REQUEST THEM,” Thane yells back, growing more irritated by the look on his face.
‘DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO SOMETHING WITH MY HAIR?” I yell at Thane. I did get it cut when I moved here, but it is still quite long. Maybe I should
go shorter?
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN? I LIKE YOUR HAIR.” Thane answers.
“YEAH, BUT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO SOMETHING WITH IT?” I yell back, holding my hair in my fingers and waving it at him.
“I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A TRAP,” Thane yells. Trap?
“WHERE’S JULIO’S BOTTLE?” Cyrus yells from the front door.
“IN THE FRIDGE,” Raven yells at Cyrus.
“WAIT, AM I AN AUNT?” Amani says with a surprised tone.
“IT’S A DAMN OPOSSUM,” Damon yells.
“DON’T YELL ABOUT MY BABY.” Cyrus threatens Damon.
“I’M KILLING EVERYBODY,” Thane yells at them while I just laugh to myself.
