Chapter 23
I looked between my mother and the rogue that was standing in the doorway of our trailer and I was confused as to how my mother would know a rogue.
“You traitorous bastard.” Ace growled.
“You know him?” I asked.
“He’s the one that betrayed the pack and he’s the reason that your father is dead.” Mom said.
I turned back to the rogue and he was still smiling menacingly at us.
“Morgan. You’ve grown up very nicely.” He said.
“You son of a bitch.” I said.
“Wow. Watch the language young lady.” He said.
“Fuck you.” I growled, lunging at him and kicking him out the front door of the trailer.
He landed on his back outside the trailer and I jumped down the step to stand over the top of him.
“You’re the reason my father died?” I asked.
“I really didn’t think this pack would win that fight.” he said.
“Not everyone won.” I said.
“And you looked a little pissed.” He said.
“You were Miles’ best friend.” Mom said from the doorway.
Jude looked back at my mother and I punched him straight in the throat. And then
kicked him in the face and kneed him in the stomach.
“Damn girl. Your daddy taught you well.” Jude said, stumbling back.
“You better fucking believe it.” I said.
Ace was by my side the whole time. I knew that he wouldn’t let anything happen to me. But he was letting me take control of this fight. And he was waiting for when I needed help.
“Where are the rest of your little creeps?” I demanded.
“They’re distracting the rest of the pack. You three are on your own.” He said, as wolves started appearing out from behind trees and out of the darkness around us.
I heard mom whimper and I backed up so I was in front of her to protect her.
Ace was trying to protect the both of us but I mind linked him and told him that I could handle my own. He knows that. We had to make sure that they didn’t get their hands on mom.
Jude was the one calling the shots with these rogues and they were all closing in on
us.
I was looking around frantically at everyone and I knew that there was only one chance of defeating them. I needed
to shift. But no one had ever seen me in my wolf form before. And I didn’t want them to this time either.
“You need to shift Morgan.” Bella told me.

“I know. But they can’t live if I do. We can’t let them go back and tell anyone else.” I said.
“I know that. Which is why we are going to kill them all.” She growled in my head.
So I turned around and I pushed mom back inside the trailer and I closed the door so she was stuck inside the trailer.
I turned back around to face the rogues and Ace was standing to the side of me. “Are you sure about this?” I asked Bella.
“It’s the only way we’re going to get out of this alive. Otherwise that bastard is going to kill mom.” She said.
I turned back to the rogues and I let out a howl as I felt my bones snapping and rearranging. My snout started to grow larger and fur started sprouting on my arms and legs.
It only took a couple of seconds before I completely shifted into my pure white wolf.
I dug my claws into the snow beneath my feet and I crouched down, with all of the rogues in my sight.
They all stood there staring at me. So did Ace.
No one knew that I was a white wolf. No one had ever seen my shift. That was on purpose. I shifted when I was 12. Two years earlier than expected.
It was the trauma of my dad’s death that forced me to shift early and I made sure that no one saw me after that.
White wolves are coveted. They are sacred. Or at least, that’s the legend behind a white wolf. 1
I looked at Ace and he was still staring at me in shock.
“Shift you idiot.” I mind linked him.
That seemed to snap him out of his gaze and he shifted into his large sandy colored wolf and stood right beside me.
Jude also shifted, but because they were all rogues, they were a lot smaller than we were. We belonged to a pack, which made us bigger and stronger. Even if I was the lowest ranked member of the pack. I was still bigger than a
rogue.
Ace and I got into position and the rogues were trying to box us in, but I ordered Ace to get to the other side of them. Don’t let them box us in. I didn’t need him by my side.
He hesitantly did what I told him to do. And I started moving away from the trailer so
I was more out in the open and had more of a fighting chance.
One of the rogues lunged at me first and I ducked out of the way and as soon as he landed on the ground, I pounced on him and I jumped straight onto him and dug my teeth into his neck and ripped it out, without mercy.
I spun around quickly, just as the next one attacked and knocked me to the ground.
I used my back legs to kick it off of me and I got to my feet as fast as possible.
I ran towards that rogue and we collided with a thunderous clash, both snapping and snarling at each other as we tried to bite and claw at each other.
One rogue jumped on my back and I growled as he dug his claws into my shoulders and sank his teeth into the back of my neck.
I managed to get the upper hand on the rogue that was in front of me and I clawed him straight down the side of

his stomach.
He stumbled for a few steps before he fell to the ground and I saw him take his last breath.
I could feel that rogue on me, biting me over and over again.
I finally managed to get up onto my back legs with my front legs in the air and I fell backwards, on top of that
rogue.
He finally let go of me and I rolled off him to see that he was dead, just from me falling on him. (1)
I knew that I was losing a lot of blood. I wasn’t sure how many times he had bitten me, but it was a lot. And he had dug his claws into my back.
I was stumbling a little, but I was still prepared to keep fighting. It wasn’t getting taken down by one pathetic
rogue.
I turned towards the pack of rogues and saw Ace fighting off as many as he possibly
could before I heard a loud growl behind me, that seemed to echo for miles.
I turned to see a large black wolf standing there with a lot of warriors behind him.
It was Alpha Logan, and he charged past me and straight towards the rogues.
I stumbled backwards towards the trailer and I remember falling down beside the front step.
“Morgan. Morgan, sweetie. Open your eyes.” Mom said, touching my face and
nuzzle.
I could hear her, but I couldn’t open my eyes. I was hurt really badly and just before I
lost consciousness mom sounded frantic.
