Chapter 28
I made myself really comfortable on the couch, under my blanket, but I made sure that I had a notebook and pen.
I wanted to write down everything they had to say about Alpha Jameson and try to get a look into this guy’s family and history.
Could I actually be a descendant of an Alpha?
That could explain why I haven’t withered away to nothing, like most omega’s do.
It could actually explain a lot about me. Why I’m stronger than I should be, why I got my wolf earlier than I should have, why my wolf is bigger than she should be.
She’s the same size as the Alpha. And that’s almost never heard of.
My phone started ringing so I reached down between the cushions to dig it out.
“Hello.” I answered.
“Hey. I’m just checking in to see if everything is alright.” Ezra said.
“Yeah. Everything’s good. Don’t worry about me.” I said.
“Are you sure? I heard about the rogue attack.” He said.
“Damn. Word does travel fast p>
“Rogue attacks have to be recorded as soon as they happen. And you haven’t been answering your phone.” He said.
“Yeah. I got hurt, but I’m already back at home. It’s nothing to worry about p>
“Alright. If you need anything then you just call me.” He said.
“I will. Thanks.” I said.
“No worries. Take it easy.” He said.
When I got off the phone I read a little more of the book when someone started knocking on the door.
So I put the phone on silent and I hid it again.
“Come in.” I sang out. 1
So the door opened and Ace walked inside.
“I have been looking for you everywhere. I thought the Alpha was going to kill me for losing me.” He said.
“I’m not lost. I’m right here. There’s coffee in the kitchen if you want it.” I said. “Thanks. Why did you leave the hospital?” He asked, walking into the kitchen. “Because we can’t afford the hospital bills.” I said.
“You know Alpha Logan isn’t going to charge you for staying in the hospital. He didn’t after those guys gave you a touch up.” Ace said.
“I don’t want the Alpha to do anything for me. I am not relying on him for anything.” I said.
Ace walked back around the counter and sat at the table.

“You two have another fight?” He asked.
“You know us. The most dysfunctional mates in the whole werewolf world.” I said.
“I wouldn’t go that far.” He said.
“Why not? I would.” I said.
“Morgan. Alpha Logan is just someone that you need to get used to.” Ace said.
“He’s a pompous ass.” I said. And Ace just nodded his head without saying anything else.
“Are you still full of stitches?” He asked.
“I’ll get mom to take them out tonight. They’re practically healed now.” I said.
“Alright. If you say so.” He said.
“So, why haven’t you found a mate yet?” I asked.
“Because I haven’t been out of the pack that many times. And my mate is obviously not in this pack.” He said.
“And I doubt she’s gonna want to move to this pack with Alpha Logan in charge.” I said.
“Maybe, maybe not. We’ll wait and see.” He said.
We were in the trailer for a while talking before Ace had to check the perimeter.
I could tell that there were a lot more patrols out now. I could hear them running the border line, which was weird hearing them around our trailer. They never used to
come near us.
I guess Alpha Logan was making good on his word.
I felt like someone was watching me, but that wasn’t unusual. I usually had someone watching me these days.
It was always someone that Alpha Logan made to watch me, which was Ace.
But I got up and looked out the window, just in case. But I couldn’t see anyone else hanging around.
I was walking back to the couch when I started getting a sharp pain in my stomach.
