Chapter 82
Ezra and Cory were basically having a stand off in my hospital room while I was trying to calm Aiden down and neither of them looked like they were going to give up.
“I told you to leave.” Ezra said.
“Morgan needs to know what we are up against.” Cory said.
“You’re not a werewolf. This doesn’t concern you.” Ezra said.
“Werewolves are just the first ones to go. They know about vampires. We will be next on their hit list.” Cory said.
“I don’t give a shit. You get the fuck off of my territory and get the fuck away from my mate.” Ezra growled. Cory looked at me suddenly in shock and I looked at Ezra, a little surprised as well.
But I guess I should have seen this coming. I mean, he thought I was his second chance mate. I guess he finally felt it now that I had the baby.
I felt it long before I had the baby. I just wasn’t going to admit it to him. I had to wait until he felt it as well.
“Is this true?” Cory asked, looking at me. I just nodded my head.
“I’ve known about it since I came here. I felt the bond. But he didn’t because I was pregnant. My scent and hormones confused him.” I explained. 2
“You knew this whole time that he was your second chance mate?” Cory asked. “Yeah.” I said. And Ezra looked at me strangely. I guess he was confused why I never said anything. But we could have that conversation later.
“Just look over what I gave you. Please? It’s important.” Cory said, and he left my
room.
Ezra walked into my room and he sat on the chair next to my bed.
“Well, I’m not leaving until you’re discharged.” He said.
“Ezra. You’re the Alpha. You need to run this pack. Not worry about me.” I said.
“Worrying about you is my main priority. And we’re going to come back to you knowing the whole time about us being mates. But for right now, this is where I belong. Koda can run the pack.” He said.
“Okay.” I said.
I was only kept in hospital overnight and Ezra took me home the following day and Nathan was waiting for us.
He couldn’t wait to have his uncle cuddle and he was introducing himself to Aiden as his uncle and he wouldn’t give him back once he took him.
I just rolled my eyes and I sat on the couch in the living room.
“He’s so beautiful. And he looks just like you. Lucky fella.” Nathan said, looking at Aiden.
“I guess I’m glad that he doesn’t look like his father.” I said, scrunching up my face.
Ezra chuckled and Nathan didn’t notice. He was too preoccupied.
I grabbed my laptop off the dining table and I started searching up some different sites.

“What are you doing?” Ezra asked.
“Cory gave me a bunch of print outs to read. Saying that the army is moving up their timeline and attacking wolf packs in as little as a few weeks. I want to know if that’s the truth or if he’s just trying to get me to go back to Logan’s pack.” I said.
“You think it could be a trick.” He said.
“Yeah. He said that Joseph was a computer hacker and that’s how he got the information. But Cory doesn’t know that I’m also a computer hacker.” I said. 2 “Seriously?” He asked.
“Yep.” I said.
So I encrypted the site and made sure my computer was completely secure before I hacked into the department of defense.
I got past their firewalls pretty easy but I needed to work pretty fast because I could only hold them off for so long, I made sure that I printed everything that I found on werewolves and vampires and I was holding them off from shutting down the site while I was on it.
I had to hide the fact that I was even there and I could only do that for a minute or two before their defenses would take over and I had to be careful.
When they finally caught on to me being there I quickly tried to find what I could on werewolves and vampires and I printed out everything that I found with those keywords in the documents before I got out of the site.
I went to the office to grab the pages that I printed out and there were only three
pages. Not like the 12 page document that Cory gave me.
I took it back to the living room and showed Ezra the difference.
“Do you think they could have changed it if they knew that Joseph hacked in?” Ezra asked.
“No. Joseph never hacked in. That 12 page document is bullshit. He lied to me to get me to go back home.” I said.
“Are you sure?” He asked.
“Positive. Look at the difference in the logos on top of the pages.” I said, showing him.
They were very similar, but with some slight differences. They had obviously faked those pages that they gave to me to try and manipulate me.
“That son of a bitch.” Ezra said, after I showed him what to look for.
“They really want you to go back there, don’t they?” Nathan asked. “Yeah. They obviously do.” I said.
“They are putting too much time and effort into this shit.” Ezra said.
“I know they are. I don’t know what the fuck to do about it.” I said.
“I think we should kill them ourselves.” Ezra said.
“And that will just start a war with the vampires. I don’t want any wars. At least not right now.” I said.
“I know. Are you going to tell Cory that you knew he was lying?” Ezra asked.

“Yeah. Next time I talk to him. But I’m not going out of my way to see him. And I have no intention of going back to Logan’s.” I said. And he nodded his head.
I knew that he was pleased with that answer. Why the hell would I go back there? He’s probably married now and it wouldn’t surprise me if that bitch was pregnant. She would definitely want to have his heir before it was too late. And before he realized that he made a mistake by marrying her.
But I couldn’t help but wonder how my mother was. And how Penelope was treating her. If she lays one finger on my mother then I will kill her myself. And I would take great pleasure in doing it as well.
It is something I would actually fantasize about doing it and it put a smile on my face.
Ezra looked at me weird when I started smiling at the thought of it but I had to excuse myself and I went to the kitchen to get a coffee so I could keep thinking about it and he wouldn’t think I was that weird.
But I didn’t care. I was taking great pleasure in thinking about hurting her. And if Logan got in the way, then that was his fault.

I was surprised when Ezra didn’t leave the house at all that day. I thought he would want to get back to running his pack, but he didn’t. He was more focused on me and Alden. It wasn’t something I was expecting. Do all Alpha’s do this when they have a baby of their own? I really didn’t know.
We had dinner with Aiden in the bassinet next to us and then Ezra took care of him while I went to have a shower and get ready for bed.
When it was time to feed Aiden, Ezra gave me some space cause he wasn’t sure if I was alright with him seeing me breastfeed. But he did kiss me on the forehead again before he left. Honestly, I wouldn’t really care if he stayed. All he would see was the baby’s head. But he was still being respectful.
And when Aiden went to sleep I put him in the bassinet next to my bed and I laid down and almost instantly fell asleep.
I was woken up three hours later to Aiden crying so I got up and I changed his nappy first.
“Is everything alright?” Ezra asked, coming to my door. 1
“Yeah. Just needs a nappy change and a feed probably.” I said.
“Yeah. He is a wolf cub. He’s gonna be hungry.” Ezra said, coming in and looking in
at Aiden. I looked at the way Ezra was looking at him. It was like a father looking at
his own child. The pride on his face was so evident and I was surprised that he was
like this. Especially with a child that wasn’t his.
“I’ll let you get back to it.” Ezra said, starting to leave.
“Ezra.” I said.
“Yeah.” He said.
“You can stay if you want to.” I said.
“What?” He asked.
“You can stay in here if you want to.” I said.
“Are you sure?” He asked.
“Yeah. I’m sure.” I said.
So I sat on the bed and I started feeding Aiden and Ezra laid down on the bed next
to me. Maybe he was a little uncomfortable staying in a room that wasn’t his or something. That’s what I thought at first, but when he laid down, he seemed completely at ease. He was fine.
I finished feeding Aiden and I put him back in the bassinet and then I laid down as well and Ezra was still awake.
“Does it actually hurt when you feed him?” Ezra asked.
“No. It feels a little weird. I guess I’ll get used to that. But it doesn’t hurt.” I said. And I
looked at him staring at me. “What is it? I know you want to ask me a question, so what is it?” I asked.
“Did you really know that we were mates when you first came here?” He asked.
“Well, I think it was the same as you. I felt that pull to you. Like, I was positive that you would protect me. And I knew that I was safe here. I have been attracted to you since the first time I saw you. While I was still mated to that other dickhead. But when I came here, it became a little more obvious. But again, the pregnancy sort of screwed
