“And give me one good reason why I shouldn’t? Why shouldn’t I get rid of you? You’re leaving these things out there in the world to do whatever they want. To kill whoever they want and you aren’t doing a damn thing to stop them.” I said.
“That’s because I don’t know how. I’ve tried everything to kill this bastard and nothing works.” Logan said.
“You’ve been experimenting on it?” Ezra asked.
“Yeah. To see how they die. And from what I can tell, they can’t.” Logan said. “Everything can die. You just need to find out how. What have you tried?” I asked.
“Wooden stakes, wooden bullets, silver bullets, silver chains don’t hurt it, vervain that hurts vampires don’t hurt this thing…” He explained.
“You think this is a mutated vampire?” I asked.
“It’s the only thing I can think of. Because it kills humans the same way as a normal vampire that walks around.” Logan said. And I looked at Ezra.
“Where’s Cory?” Ezra asked.
“I can call him.” I said.
“See if he knows anything about this.” Ezra said. So I pulled my phone out of my pocket and Ezra grabbed his.
“What are you going to do?” Logan asked.
“Rally the fucking troops. Find out what this thing is. Do everything that you have failed to do. And at the same time, we’re going to show everyone that this pack truly does belong to Morgan.” Ezra said.
“I’ve been an Alpha of this pack for years. I know what the hell I am doing” Logan yelled.
“Obviously not. Morgan took one look at that thing and she knew exactly what needed to be done. All you care about if trying to figure out what it is. Who the hell cares? Figure that out later. Save people now. You’re such an arrogant asshole that you just don’t even realize that do you?” Ezra yelled, getting in Logan’s face.
Logan was staring at Ezra and then he looked over at me. So I walked over and grabbed Ezra’s hand.
“Come on. He’s not worth it. We’ve got shit to do. Now.” I said.
So Ezra and I went upstairs and into the living room.
I called Cory first and then there were a lot of other calls that Ezra made to a lot of Alpha’s that he was on friendly terms with. And a lot of them were near here.
Cory arrived really quickly and by that time Logan was upstairs as well. But we weren’t paying any attention to him.
“What’s going on?” Cory asked.
“I want to show you something.” I said.
So we walked past Logan and we went down to the basement and I took him straight towards the cage and the creature was in full view as soon as we walked down there.

“Holy shit.” Cory yelled, jumping back.
“Have you seen one of these things before?” I asked.
“Yeah. How the hell did you get one in a cage?” He asked.
“I didn’t. Logan did. What is it?” I asked.
“Logan caught this thing and didn’t tell anyone.” I said.
“He’s a fucking idiot. We need to get this thing out of here.” Cory said.
“Why?” I asked.
“These things don’t have a name. We don’t know what they are. But I can bet that the others know where it is.” He said.
“What?” I asked.
“They can’t talk. They talk like werewolves do. Telepathically. This thing’s pack knows where it is. I can guarantee that. How long has it been here?” He asked.
“I have no idea. I just found it.” I said.
Then out of nowhere we heard yelling and a lot of banging coming from upstairs and it caused both of us to jump.
“I’m guessing it’s been here long enough. It wants out.” Cory said.
“No it doesn’t. They want me.” I said.
“What?” He asked.
“He was calmer when I was closest to him. He freaked out when Logan went near him. And now they’re attacking.” I said.
“He told them that you were here.” Cory said. And we both looked at each other in fear before running for the
stairs.
