Chapter 121
The next morning I sent warriors to the location that Logan told us about and we had a detailed map of the whole area where the creatures were last seen. Where that one in the basement was captured.
They left in the morning so they could get a good vantage point and they had all of their supplies with them. Ezra stayed back with me and we spent the day playing with the kids. Making sure that they knew how much we loved them and we had a good day together. One that they would remember always. Well, at least Aiden would. Savannah was too young. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t going to give her the perfect day as well.
Paisley was also there. She had her digital camera out taking lots of photos of us together and they were coming out really good.
I caught Ezra staring at me a few times, but I didn’t say anything about it. I knew that it was just because he was nervous and he was trying to remember every little thing about me. I thought it was sweet and a little morbid. Like he didn’t think I was going to come home alive.
But I guess, that’s the same reason we are playing with the kids like this. Because we want them to have good memories. And Paisley has the photos to give them when they are older.
“Ezra.” Logan said, coming into the room.
“Yeah.” Ezra said, looking up at him.
“Can we talk for a second?” Logan asked.
Ezra looked at me confused and I turned back to look at Logan, but he said that it was going to be a friendly chat. He just wanted to talk to Ezra for a second.
So Ezra got up off of the living room floor and he headed outside with Logan.
They walked far enough away from the house that I couldn’t hear what they were saying when I opened the window. So I closed it again and I sat back down on the floor with the kids.
They seemed to be outside for a while before they came back inside and I was looking at them curiously. Logan just walked straight upstairs and Ezra came back into the living room.
“What was that all about?” I asked.
“Don’t worry about it.” Ezra said.
He had a really serious tone to his voice, so I am guessing he didn’t like what they talked about and he wasn’t going to tell me what it was about.
I knew I would find out eventually, so I didn’t want to ruin this time we had together as a family.
By the time the sun started setting, I went to the kitchen to make dinner and we all sat around the table eating while I was feeding Savannah and the tension in the room was so thick you could practically cut it with a knife.
After that Ezra and I bathed the kids and we put them to bed and stayed with them until they fell asleep.
When I walked out of the room Paisley was standing there. She’d been listen to me singing to Savannah and she looked like she had a few tears in her eyes.
“Morgan. Please don’t do this?” She asked.
“It’s too late Paisley. Everyone is waiting for me. I have to go.” I said.

“Are you absolutely sure that you know what you’re doing?” She asked. And I pulled her into a hug.
“Of course I do. Otherwise I wouldn’t be going. I definitely don’t want to leave my kids without a mother. Everything will be fine and I know that Ezra and my warriors from back home will make sure that I am safe at all times.” I said.
“Alright. Just please, be really careful.” She said.
I went to get changed and I grabbed a backpack of things that I would need after we left and I walked downstairs to meet up with Ezra’s brother Nathan, Beta Koda, Logan and Beta Levi.
Ezra grabbed on to my hand and told me that everyone was waiting. So I turned to Paisley who was standing behind us.
“Promise me. If anything happens to us, you get the kids out of here and get them home. I know they’ll be protected there.” I said.
“I will. But nothing will happen. I know that you will come back just fine.” She said. And she leaned forward and hugged me.
We then walked out the front and there were dozens upon dozens of warriors waiting for us and I started feeling more nervous. Knowing that this was really happening. I gripped Ezra’s hands tighter as we walked down the stairs.
“It’s not too late to change your mind.” Ezra said.
“Yeah. It is. I’ll be alright. We can do this.” I said. And he nodded his head.
EZRA POV
I don’t think Morgan really grasped how nervous I was. We have faced those creatures when they attacked the packhouse and they managed to get inside where Morgan had to fight one off. She’s the only one that’s been able to kill them. So, we don’t know what good we’re going to be able to do. We can’t kill them, only slow them down. And now Morgan was putting her life on the line to protect all of our kind.
