Chapter 182
“It’s you three that have been tipping the packs off that they’re going to be attacked.” I said.
“We get a message to Alpha Ezra. He takes it from there.” Ben said.
I could feel the tears welling in my eyes and they started to run down the fur on my face.
I turned away from Ben. Not wanting him to see me like this.
I hate wolves. At least, I’m meant to. I’m not meant to be one.
“Come with me.” Ben said, walking up beside me.
I hesitated for a moment, but I finally followed him and he took me to a stream nearby.
He nodded his head towards the water so I walked forward and I saw a white face staring back at me with a patch of black under my chin and some more black on my body.
“Morgan is a white wolf. Ezra is all black. You’re a mixture of the two of them. Your color is absolutely incredible. I’ve never seen anyone like it.” Ben said.
“I had never heard of their kidnapped daughter until I was sent into their pack.” I said.
“I know. Because no one wanted you to know. You’ve been sheltered your whole life. You’ve grown up on army bases. But they sent you to the Midnight pack to throw Morgan off. They knew that if she saw you, she’d know who you were. You were being used as a pawn. This whole time, the Hunters have been using you to take down the biggest pack in the country. Because they know that Morgan won’t kill her daughter. She will let you kill her before she kills you.” Ben explained.
“I’ve spent my whole life hating them. Now I’m meant to be one of them?” I asked.
“That’s the way they wanted it. You’ve seen the changes lately. I know that those cuts and blisters were gone on your hands and feet the next day. I know that you’re starting to see in the dark. The headaches you’ve been getting, that’s your wolf trying to push through. So she can talk to you. She will constantly live in your head and you will never be alone again.” Ben explained.
“And the strength while training with Justin the last couple of weeks.” I said.
“No one on this base knows how you were able to do that? Because no human is capable of it.” Ben said.
I let out a groan and I fell to the ground again. I could feel my bones breaking and rearranging again as I smitted back to my human self. But this time wasn’t anywhere near as painful and it didn’t take as long.
I looked down and realized that I wasn’t wearing any clothes so Ben ran off for a second and came back with some clothes in his mouth and dropped them at my feet.
“Morgan brought them. She knew that you’d need them.” Ben said.
So I got dressed and he shifted back as well and put on a pair of shorts.
He sat next to the stream with me while I was trying to process everything but I knew that I had to go back and talk to Ezra and Morgan.
I grew up alone, without parents. But now people are telling me that my parents have been looking for me all this time.
I thought my real parents didn’t care. But they look like they care a lot.
Ben sat with me until I was ready and I finally got up and walked back through the forest to the clearing
where Ezra and Morgan were
waiting I saw Jesse and Eric tet
but once they saw me they just
smiled at me and headed back
towards the base.
I stood in front of Ezra and Morgan and I took a deep breath.
I looked at Ben before I looked back at them.
“Wait a minute. Are you her fucking mate?” Ezra asked. And I was shocked and I
looked back at Ben for a moment.
