Chapter 164
Elara rolled down her window when the security guard stopped their car at the entrance to ask who they were meeting.
“Who else lives here apart from Daniel Macros?” Elara asked the security guard, whose gaze darkened at the sass.
“Exactly, woman. Daniel Macros lives here. Are you sure you are in the right place?” The security guard asked. After all, it wasn’t every day they saw a pretty lady come to the entrance of the estate to ask for their boss.
Elara looked at the man for a few seconds before chewing her lower lip.
She really wanted it to be a surprise, but if the guard wouldn’t let her enter, she’d have to call the man himself, and her surprise would be ruined.
“I should’ve taken the other way and entered his property illegally, just like he does to mine,” Elara pouted, her words heard by the guards easily.
“Excuse me?” The security guard asked, his hand tightening on his gun.
Elara looked at his actions and suppressed the urge to roll her eyes.
“I have Alen’s number,” Antonio said, and Elara’s pupils dilated.
“You do? Why didn’t you say anything earlier? Call him and ask him to tell this guard who I am,” Elara said.
The security guard narrowed his gaze at the girl. She didn’t look like she was bluffing. But he got to do his duty and couldn’t allow her.
Who knows? She might turn out to be someone scheming against their boss. Probably trying to seduce him?
He has become quite famous since he appeared on that variety show.
The security guard thought before his pupils dilated. Wait. She was the same girl from that variety show that his boss participated in.
Could it be that she fell for him and was now pestering him? The man thought.
“Don’t run your horses. I can clearly see what’s going through your head,” Elara said, and the man cleared his throat, taking a step back from the car.
Antonio dialed Alen’s number and waited for the man to pick up.
“Your boss is not with my boss,” Alen said as soon as he picked up.
Elara rolled her eyes when she heard what he said.
Antonio sighed. “I know that. I have called for something else. If you are with your boss, can you step aside for some time?” Antonio asked.
Elara bobbed her head up and down. She made a good choice in choosing Antonio as her bodyguard. The man was comprehensive with everything.
“What is it?” Alen asked after some time.
“We are standing outside the Gold Spoon residential. The guards won’t let us enter. Miss Elara brought something for Mr. Macros, and she wants it to be a surprise,” Antonio said.
Alen didn’t say anything and just ended the call.
Antonio looked at the phone with raised brows.
He was about to call again when he heard a ringing phone and saw the security guard pick it up.
Elara saw how the guard’s eyes widened as he proceeded to look at her.
“Yes, sir! Right away, sir!” The security guard ended the call before giving Elara a 90° bow.
“I am sorry, lady boss,” the security guard apologized immediately.
Elara felt her lips twitch and nodded.
“Please open the gates,” she said, and the security guard stood straight before rushing inside and pressing the button to remove the security lock.
He opened the door, and Antonio drove inside.
It wasn’t long before they reached the prominent mansion-like place.
Two rows of men dressed in black rushed out and stood in a line, bowing to her as soon as she stepped out of the car.
“Welcome to the Gold Spoon residency, ma’am. This is your first time here. We hope you have a wonderful time,” they greeted, and Elara cleared her throat, feeling slightly embarrassed.
She nodded and walked inside, greeted by Alen.
“I am sorry, Miss Elara. It was my negligence. I should’ve sent your photo to the organization and told them who you are. You had to wait because of me. But if I do that, our boss won’t be happy because he Alen started to blabber.
Elara’s lips twitched, and she walked to him.
“Hey, it’s okay.” Elara was about to place her hand on his shoulders to comfort him like she comforted her people, but the man flinched like her hands were made of burning steel.
“No!” Alen nearly fell on his butt to dodge.
Antonio raised his brows at the exaggeration.
“I mean, thank you for comforting me. But this is our boss’s den, and he is not in a good mood today. If he saw you touching another man in any way, he would have that man’s head. And I want to live, Miss Elara,” Alen said.
Elara raised her brows.
When she saw him in the morning, he was perfectly fine. Even when her father had taken them to a restaurant to eat and discuss things, he was fine.
Did something happen after that? She wondered.
As if an idea struck Alen, he stepped forward with folded hands.
“Miss Elara, you came here to surprise our boss, right? He is taking a shower right now. Why don’t you surprise him there?” Alen asked.
Elara thought it was a good idea and nodded.
“Where is his room?” Elara asked.
“Let me take you there,” Alen said, doing a happy dance in his head.
After their boss found out his stepbrother was trying to sabotage their business, he was in a bad mood and was taking a cold shower to clear his head. It would be better if his mood improved before he came down. This way, no one has to feel his wrath.
Alen nodded to himself, satisfied with his idea.
Alen took her to the furthest room on the first floor.
“Please,” Alen opened the door for her before he stepped away.
“I hope you succeed in cooling him… I mean, surprising him,” Alen said before he closed the door behind him.
Elara raised her brows as she looked at the furniture and decoration of the room.
It looked elegant and classy but so mundane at the same time.
There were literally no photos in the room, not one thing that was of a different color other than black, brown, white, and stale blue.
She walked to the bed and sat on it with a soft smile, moving her hand on the bedsheet thoughtfully.
The sound of the shower running finally stopped, and she looked at the door, her heart skipping a beat as she thought about what his reaction would be.
Daniel walked out of the shower, one hand holding the towel as he ruffled his hair with it to dry it, while another towel secured around his torso protected his manhood from glaring Elara right in the face.
The man stopped for a millisecond when he saw her before he shook his head and walked to the wardrobe.
Elara, expecting a surprised expression, turned around in confusion.
Wait. He saw her, right?
She saw him take out his clothes before he closed the wardrobe.
“Did you not see me?” Elara asked.
Daniel turned to her before sighing.
“I used to imagine her, and now I am hearing her voice too. You are done, Daniel,” he murmured to himself, and Elara finally understood what was going on.
She was about to open her mouth when the man dropped his towel, and her pupils dilated.
“Aahh! Daniel!” Elara shouted, and Daniel finally snapped into reality, his eyes widening when he realized she was here for real.
