Chapter 20:
I don’t want any obstacles standing in the way of my son’s future. I’ve worked so hard raising him to be the man he is today, and I can’t just sit back and watch my efforts crumble before my eyes. On the other hand, I don’t want to break Tristan’s heart, as it might cause unnecessary distractions.
He seems to care so deeply for Emily. I’ve never seen him this happy since I adopted him as my son and heir to Mico’s Technology and Energy Reservation. These past few days with her in the mansion have brought so much life to Tristan.
He snapped out of his thoughts when the door creaked open. Tristan walked in and took a seat in front of me.
“Hello, Dad. How have you been p>
“So good,” I replied. “Hmm… my son, I have something very important to discuss with you,” I said, settling into the single leather chair.
“Dad, you’re free to discuss anything with me. I’m still your son, and I always will be.
Tristan’s POV
I sat right in front of my dad, wondering what could be troubling him, making him look so serious.
“Dad, what’s the matter? You look worried, like something terrible is about to happen,” I asked, my frustration rising.
“Relax, son; it’s not really serious. I just want to talk to you about Emily,” he said, and my mind raced at the mention of her name.
“Is something wrong with her? Did she do something bad?” I asked, concern flooding my expression.
“You don’t need to worry, my son. It’s just that I think we need to understand her background and the pack she belongs to, to avoid any troubles in the future. Or what do you think?” he asked, as though there were an option in his question.
“I understand you, and I’m going to do that, but only on one condition,” I replied firmly.

“Seriously, what could be the condition tied to finding out the background of a random girl you saved in the woods?” he asked, his stare cold and intense.
“Alright, here it comes. No matter how bad or poor her background may be, it won’t stop me from marrying her,” I said, my voice resolute.
“Till then, I’ll decide if she stays or not. For now, enjoy your time with her,” he replied.
I stood up, obviously not satisfied with his reply, and left the office angrily.
I’m not going to give up on Emily. This is my first time being in love. I think he should be happy for me, not try to talk me out of it, I thought to myself as I walked down the stairs.
Sheelah’s POV
“What exactly is going on in this mansion? Since Alpha Christian found out that Amira is alive, he barely stays the night here. What’s happening to him? This is really getting out of hand, and I need to put things back in order,” I muttered to myself.
What am I supposed to do? Who can I turn to at this critical moment? I can’t handle this all on my own. Humm… Should I involve Gammah Adrian? I thought, sitting down on the bed.
What if she’s not the cursed girl? What if they both just happen to look alike? I have so many secretive things I need to take care of as soon as possible. I’ve wasted all these years waiting patiently for Alpha Christian, and I can’t just sit back and let some random girl have him all to herself. I was so lost in thought that I didn’t even notice Gammah Adrian walk in.
