“I’m glad you found them worthy. I’ll invite him and his family over this evening for dinner. That’s when we’ll share the news. I’m sure he’ll be happy,” he replied.
“Alright, Dad, I’ll be in my room now,” I said, trying to stand up.
“Wait, Emily. I’d like to have a word with you,” he said, making me sit back down, curious.
“Is everything okay, Dad?” I asked, still wondering what this was about.
“Yes, everything is fine. It’s about you and Tristan p>
“You’re both adults, and you know what you want for yourselves. I’m not standing in the way of your love, but you and Tristan are children to me. You’re a daughter I chose to adopt because my son is interested in you p>
“Actually, I’m speaking as a father who is just worried about his son’s future and his pack. He’s willing to risk such an important position, and being with my son makes you the Luna of this pack. So, this conversation is that of a father and a worried alpha. I’m sure you understand better,” he said, giving me a knowing look.
“Of course I do. Please, go ahead,” I replied.
“Ever since you came into this pack, I’ve never questioned your past, even if it’s questionable, considering you came here with p>
“Either way, I want you to see me as a father. Confide in me so I can defend you in the future. I wouldn’t want to lose someone like you or hear about you from a stranger. I want to hear about you from you,” he said calmly.
“Did you see the invite from Mr—” she asked, walking toward me.
“I did. You should get ready. I’ll be leaving the pack by 4 p.m., and I won’t be waiting for anyone,” I said without looking at her.
For some strange reason, I was happy to go. I would get to see Amira again. I just hoped she would agree to help me grow my company again and, more than anything, that she would finally admit she is my Amira.

“Sheela will be going with us,” she said, making me pause what I was doing in my closet to stare at her.
The only family I consider mine is my mother. Adrian was my family once, but he destroyed that bond when I caught him trying to force himself on Amira. I can never forgive him for that. From that moment on, he ceased to be my family.
As for Sheela, she’s just someone close to my mother—nothing more.
“Why would she come with us to a family gathering?” I asked, trying to suppress my anger.
“Because I consider her family. She is your future mate, and I want you to start accepting that fact p>
“If she doesn’t come with us, then I’ll have no choice but to stay behind as well. So if you truly consider me family, then she has to come with us,” she said.
“Suit yourself,” I replied after a few moments of silence. I wouldn’t let something like this come between me and Mr. Mico. He is a man I deeply respect.
“4 p.m. it is, then,” she said before walking away with a smile.
I stepped out of the car in my tuxedo and patiently waited for my mother to do the same. It took her a long time because she had dressed as if she were attending an important event, when in reality, it was just a simple family dinner. Sheela was dressed similarly.
