Chapter 41:
She stormed out of my room with Sheela, who was practically running to keep up with her.
Tristan’s POV
I was already missing Emily, so I decided to pay her a surprise visit at the Moonlight Pack. I hadn’t informed her I would be coming; that’s why it was a surprise visit.
The pack was as busy as usual, but the mansion was quiet. I made my way upstairs, with the help of a maid who seemed like she was eavesdropping.
As we walked up the stairs, I kept hearing noise coming from ahead, so I quickened my pace.
“What’s going on?” I asked, seeing six pairs of eyes staring at me in surprise. Just then, Emily walked out of the room they were approaching. She stared at them, her hands on her hips.
“Tristan!” she called, rushing towards me. Before I could say a word, her warm body was already in mine.
“Did you miss me already?” I asked, and she nodded like a child.
“I do, I missed you a lot,” she said, showering me with kisses on my face.
“What’s going on here?” I asked, still staring at the three of them.
“You’re here! You didn’t inform us you would be coming earlier,” Luna Vivienne said with a smile.
There was an obvious tension between them, and something told me there was more to this than met the eye. Maybe I was just overthinking it.
Alpha Christian’s POV
Seeing them together makes my heart boil with anger. I came out with my mom to stop her from doing something stupid. I’m still in the process of winning back her heart, and I’m not ready to mess anything up.
“What’s going on here?” Tristan asked, glancing at the three of us suspiciously.

“You’re here; you didn’t inform us you’d be coming earlier,” my mom said with a fake smile, and Tristan was forced to smile along with her, though he obviously sensed that something was wrong.
“I came to pay Emi a surprise visit. Good evening, everyone,” he said, playing with Amira’s cheek as she grinned like a child, sticking to him like glue.
“That’s a good thing. We were about to call her out for dinner, but since you’re here, let’s all go down together,” my mom said, still keeping her fake smile intact. This showed that she was scared of Tristan; she didn’t want him to sense that all wasn’t well, because that would be disastrous for us all.
But on the other hand, I wasn’t okay. I can’t bear to see Amira in another man’s embrace, and the smile on her face wasn’t doing anything good for my current mood.
“You’re welcome. My mom will make you comfortable while I return to my room,” I said, trying to walk away.
“Aren’t you going to join us?” he asked curiously.
“No, I’m fine. I have work to attend to, so I won’t be going down with you. Excuse me,” I said before walking back to my room.
“Let’s go, babe,” I heard his voice as I locked my door.
