“Don’t do that, Luna Vivienne. I’m just suggesting we get someone to finish the work for us, rather than having me do it. Let’s just pay anyone to do the whole thing,” I said.
“And don’t you think this whole thing will repeat itself if we give the work to another man? It’s possible that person will come back in a few weeks and demand something even worse than what that fool is asking for,” she said.
She is right about that. I don’t want to get involved with any other low-lives, and it’s high time I stop this whole thing with Adrian.

Slowly, I pulled out the knife tucked in my sleeve. Quietly, I raised it, and with every ounce of strength in me, I stabbed him in the back.
He shoved me away from the impact, his eyes widening in shock.

“Are you trying to kill me?” he asked, blood already dripping from his mouth.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” I smirked, but my expression changed as he staggered toward me.
