“Why would you do that?” I asked, trying not to get angry.
“I can’t let a friendship that has been built for so many years just go down like that because of a man who made his decision to go with whoever he wants, so I will just move somewhere else and let karma do its job properly,” she said.
“You are both the same,” I muttered to myself, feeling irritated.
“What did you say?” she asked.
“Nothing exactly, just talking to myself,” I said.
“I will pay her back for what she did to me. I will make her pay, even to her fourth generation,” I said with a smile.
“I think that’s a little bit cruel, but we all have our ways of doing things and decisions to make,” she said, looking elsewhere.
Alpha Christian’s POV
I was busy in my room when a maid came in with a cup of water I had requested earlier.
“Here is the water, my Lord,” the maid said, dropping it on the table.
“Where is my mother?” I asked, taking a sip of the water.
“She left the mansion a few minutes ago with Miss Emily,” she said.
They left the mansion together? I’ve noticed how close they’ve become these days, and it makes me wonder if things are going well between them or if it’s all under pretense. My mom doesn’t give up on whatever she puts her mind to, so it makes me confused and even more worried. But I’m sure she wouldn’t do anything to cause her harm.
“You can leave,” I said, taking the cup of water again.

The door opened almost immediately, revealing Sheela. She made her way in seductively, wearing a revealing dress.
“What do you want?” I asked, glaring at her in anger.
“I came to see you, my Lord. Aren’t you happy to see me?” she asked, standing before me.
Is she out of her mind, or is she just going nuts? I wanted to ask, but I suddenly felt weak, unable to even lift a finger.
“What did you do to me?” I asked weakly, trying to force my eyes open, but it was far from possible. I slowly closed my eyes, letting the strong urge to sleep take over me.
“I’m doing what I should have done,” I heard her say before I closed my eyes.

I woke up feeling incredibly weak, with my head pounding heavily. It felt as if something was being hammered inside it, the pain so intense that I couldn’t even begin to explain it.
