I left the mansion early in the morning to finish work quickly and conduct the research I needed. I couldn’t afford any distractions, and right now, Christian was exactly that.
As soon as he found out I had somewhere to go, he would be on my neck, questioning everything. Considering how fast I needed to move, he didn’t need to know anything for now.
Luna Vivienne and Sheela must have countless questions racing through their minds, but they needed to understand one thing—I was always a step ahead. “Ma’am, we can handle the research for you. There’s no need for you to go through all this trouble alone,” said the man I had appointed as leader of the Predators Pack, his expression filled with concern.
“You don’t have to worry about this. This is something I need to do myself. Just focus on keeping the people safe—I’ll be fine on my own,” I said, offering a small smile.
“Well, if you say so. But please, stay safe. And since you insist on going alone, I’ll have one of my men guard you. That way, I can have some peace of mind,” he said firmly.

“And that means working late at night, much later than usual. You need a guard,” he interrupted.
“Well, if you insist,” I said, walking toward my car. Just as he promised, he assigned one of his men to follow me.
