“Yes, that same one. I received the news just now, and you’re the first person I’m sharing it with,” he said, grinning.
The ring of my phone made me turn back to my table, and I had no choice but to pick up the call, as it had to do with my personal life.
“Is everything okay?” I asked the bodyguard as soon as I picked up.
“What!” I yelled, widening my eyes in shock.
“What’s wrong? Is everything okay?” he asked. I ignored him and walked away with just my phone.
How could she be dead? I saw her just last night—what could have killed her?
“What were you saying over the phone? What’s going on?” asked the bodyguard as soon as I got to the nurse’s house.
“I’m sorry, ma’am, but the nurse died last night,” he said.
“What do you mean she died? How did she die? I placed you here to watch her so I could get a lead today, and now she’s dead all of a sudden. How did this happen?” I asked angrily.
“She was stabbed to death last night by a strange woman. I saw the woman walk in, but she literally ran out of the house. When I went inside, the nurse was already dead p>
“I placed you here as a guard, yet you couldn’t prevent this disaster. I thought you were competent, but you’ve ruined everything for me. How am I supposed to find out everything I need to know now? Who’s going to tell me what happened? The only lead I had is now gone, and I’m back to being nothing—a nobody,” I ranted, in tears.
“Actually, ma’am, I think I have a clue to what you’ve been searching for. I have a video here on my phone p>
“I could have stopped her death, but I’m not sure if the woman had backup. I didn’t want to lose the clue I have, so I had to leave when the killer was about to walk out. I didn’t want to lose everything,” he said, making me wipe my tears.
