Amira’s POV
It has been two days since the rescue mission—if that’s the best way to describe it. I’m glad my son is back in one piece, and everyone else is safe, except for the people behind this whole kidnapping scheme. Alpha Gotham and his daughter, Sheela, chose to die rather than live and see me happy.
Well, it’s all good now. They’re gone, and there’s no threat hanging over me anymore. I can finally live my fairy tale life—having a good life, living large, and getting married to a man who would be loyal to me until death do us part.
I’ve been living that life for the past two days. I just want peace. I don’t need any stress, and Dylan chose to stay with his dad so they can catch up on the time they’ve missed. So all I do is live like the princess I am now, with my dad, who is ready to spoil me until I get tired of it.
But then, I’m worried about Christian. He’s been a little distant ever since he got a glimpse of what his mother did. I’m sure he feels bad for me, and he’s carrying the guilt for her actions. I don’t feel okay about that, because the relationship is slowly dying for me.
“What are you thinking about right now?” my dad asked, sitting next to me.
“It’s actually about Christian, Dad. Where is Tris?” I asked, looking around instead.
“Well, he just went to the Moonlight Pack to meet Christian. I begged him to guide him through some important matters in the pack, so he’s there as we speak,” he replied.
“Oh, that’s good,” I said, nodding in approval.
“So, like I said, I’m worried about him. He’s been a little distant from me. He hasn’t called me for a while now. The last time we spoke, he said he wanted to hear from me, and that was it. He didn’t say anything more. Instead, he always looks guilty, as if he’s the one who wronged me when his mother is the one who’s at fault to begin with. I’m really not comfortable with this, and I want to make some amendments,” I said.
“I knew he would act that way. That was the main reason I told us to keep it to ourselves, but Vivienne pushed too hard. Her greed made her son find out about everything, and now he has to live with the regret. So, how are you willing to help him?” he asked, leaning forward.

“I just need to have a word with him. I’m sure he’ll listen to whatever I tell him. It will make him feel better and help him understand that everything happened for a reason. I might never get to have a child with him if I were to stay in this mansion,” I whispered the last part.
Mr. Mico, my dad, is the epitome of an overprotective father. He says Christian and I can’t be in a secluded place for too long to avoid fornication. It’s ridiculous!
“I’ll get dressed and head out now. See you later,” I said playfully before heading into my room.
I sighed heavily as I stepped out of the car. I hope he listens to whatever I have to say because he’s been a bit stubborn recently, and I don’t really like it.
I flinched as Dylan ran toward me with a smile.
I almost forgot that this man was here, but why is he walking around the mansion aimlessly? He doesn’t learn. This is the same boy who was kidnapped just a few days ago.
