Gideon thought Irvin’s behavior was excessively contradictory. It wasn’t just him–everyone else in the private room felt the same.
If one said Irvin loved me, he constantly belittled me and asked everyone else to look down on me too. But if one said he didn’t love me, anyone who dared say something bad about me would face his wrath.
Now, as I was divorcing him, he appeared so tormented. It seemed as if he wouldn’t stop until he drank himself into a severe gastric hemorrhage.
Irvin remained silent. He didn’t know what to say and didn’t want to talk about the deepest feelings–the ones even he didn’t dare confront–buried in his heart.
He refused to speak and continued drinking despite their attempts to stop him. Someone was worried he might drink himself to death, so they secretly called Julianne.
Of course, she arrived at the scene quickly.
Seeing that Irvin was on the verge of collapsing from drinking, she rushed forward and held his arm with a look of concern on her face. “Irvin, why did you drink so much? Please stop, okay?”
Her coquettish tone made Gideon frown slightly.
After Julianne snatched the bottle from Irvin’s hand, he stopped grabbing another one to drink.
Gideon said nothing further. He bid them farewell and left, as he had never liked Julianne.
When the others saw how easily Julianne had managed to stop Irvin from drinking, they showered her with compliments and said she was clearly the most important person to him. Their flattery made Julianne feel somewhat lightheaded with pride.
After everyone else had left, she originally planned to call Travis to help take him back to Elmswood Villa. But as she looked at the drunken Irvin sprawled out before her, a thought suddenly struck her.
This was the perfect opportunity!
Instead of calling Travis, she paid a waiter from the club to help her move Irvin to a hotel room across the street. Then, another idea came to her. She immediately called Travis and asked him to bring her something useful.
True to his reputation as Julianne’s most loyal admirer, Travis arrived in a hurry not long after her call.
“This is the most potent and effective diffuser on the market. It takes effect within minutes of inhalation and leaves no trace after waking up,” Travis explained.
When Julianne heard him emphasize that it left no trace after waking, she gave him a flirtatious smile. “You’re the best, Travis!”
He was truly quite capable to be able to procure something like this for her.
Her coquettish smile made Travis’s body heat up as he imagined what she was about to do. For a moment, he wished he could be the man lying inside that room. But he quickly reminded himself that he wasn’t worthy. Julianne would never give a lowly assistant like him the time of the day. His eyes dimmed as he took the remaining diffuser and left, planning to find another woman to vent his frustrations on.
Holding the diffuser Travis had given her, Julianne returned to the room eagerly.
When she entered, she saw Irvin lying on the bed. Whether it was from the heat or his own restlessness, he had

loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt, exposing his muscular chest.

The sight made Julianne’s heart skip a beat. She was obsessed with Irvin. She had always had a crush on him. She now knew how wrong she’d been all those years ago. If given another chance, she would live and die for him. She would love him even more than I ever could!
But no matter how much she tried to seduce him over the years, and no matter how much he spoiled her, he had never shown interest in her in that way. Because of their past, he never crossed that line with her.
If she didn’t sleep with him, he would never truly be hers. After me, there would always be other women. So no matter what, she had to break through that barrier and become his woman in every sense of the word.
With this thought in mind, she didn’t hesitate. She took out the diffuser and splashed it toward Irvin. Fearing it might not be effective enough, she used the entire bottle.
Soon, she felt her own breathing quicken and her heart racing. Her cheeks became flushed. Heat coursed through her body, leaving her restless and eager to throw herself at Irvin.
