However, the shopkeeper keyed it in as an antique vase from the Rovan Empire. Then, he priced it at five million before charging Irvin’s card.
Irvin never had to worry about money. And since they were in an antique shop, he naturally assumed she had broken an antique vase. Besides, he believed Julianne wouldn’t have called him if it were for a small amount.
Hence, he didn’t even question anything and simply completed the payment. After getting his card back, hurriedly left for work.
The shopkeeper turned to face Julianne after Irvin had left.
“Mr. Sawyer treats you so well, Ms. Sinclair. He just paid the five million dollars without asking a single question!” the shopkeeper exclaimed.
He was extremely envious of Julianne.
However, Julianne only scoffed in response.
It didn’t matter how much Irvin was willing to spend on her. At the end of the day, the money was still his. She could only spend
it if he allowed her to. Even then, she had to come up with a reason if she wanted to spend more, just like today.
If the money was hers, would she need an excuse to get it? No! She could just spend it directly!
Julianne had grown up with Irvin. Because of this, no one in the Sawyer household dared treat her as the housekeeper’s daughter. She had been treated as the young lady of the house and enjoyed a life of luxury.
However, it didn’t matter how well she was treated. She was still the daughter of a housekeeper. Thus, she had to rely on Irvin and Lizzie’s favor. This was how she maintained her lifestyle.
From a young age, she had learned how to read people. She had to know how to please others in order to secure a good life. Because of this, she had grown to hate the constant need to be a people pleaser.
That was why she longed to have enough money to no longer have to please anyone. She longed to be able to spend freely whenever and however she wanted.
Her greatest wish since childhood was to marry Irvin. That way, the Sawyer family and their wealth would be hers.
However, Julianne’s parents passed away before she had the chance to make her dream a reality. The Sawyers were unwilling to continue looking after her, so she was sent to live with my family, the Quills.
My family treated her well, even doted on her. And after some subtle manipulation , they began treating her better than me.
That being said, Grandma held all the authority in the Quill family. As such, my parents had to seek her approval before
spending any money.
This was even more so for Julianne, which only made her long even more for the freedom to spend as she wished.
Because of this, she had made a wrong move.
She was young and beautiful. Plus, Phillip had always looked at her inappropriately ever since she became a teenager. She thought she could easily gain control of him. And once she did, she would gain control over the Sawyers.

Julianne couldn’t even bear to think about it.
She had taken such a big gamble in being with Phillip. Meanwhile, he had played with her for roughly three months before kicking her to the curb.

The shopkeeper glanced at her. It was as though he could sense her immense batred.
Julianne snapped out of her thoughts and gathered herself.
“Let’s split the profit!” she said to the shopkeeper.
Julianne gave the shopkeeper 500 thousand as a commission. Ther, she left the antique store with the remaining 4.5 million and secretly went to meet Travis.
After giving him the rest of the money, she told him to sneak abroad as soon as possible.
Irvin kept saying he loved me the most. He also repeatedly said he would only be good to me. Yet, look at what he had done. He gave Julianne my money, which enabled her to put out a hit on me
This was the kind of love he gave me.
It really made me want to beg him to give it to someone else.
Gathering the legal big shot for a meal wasn’t an easy task. They were all very busy people with demanding schedules.
Back when I had been detained, they had dropped everything to come to my aid. That was how they were able to come together at the same time.
Now, I simply wanted to treat them to a meal to thank them for their assistance. Hence, it wasn’t necessary for them to prioritize this over more important things.
