“You’ll have to excuse me, Mr. Ashford,” I said. “I’m afraid I have other business to attend to, so I can’t entertain you any longer.

With that, I swiftly headed for the door.
Mr. Ashford caught me by the arm as I passed him.
“Are you sure you want to turn down my offer? Don’t you want to save your companies?” he asked.
Looking him in the eye, I replied, “I’ve come up with a solution, so don’t need to trouble you , Mr. Ashford.”
The solution in question was the idea that struck me just moments ago.
Mr. Ashford narrowed his eyes. I couldn’t discern what he was thinking. However, he released my arm before I could say anything else.
With a smile, he wished, “Well, good luck then , Ms. Quill.”
While I prepared my battle plan, Jeremy surprisingly spoke up in my defense.
He said I had always been excellent since I was a child and that my grades had always resulted from my own efforts. He also told everyone that my parents were mentally disturbed. That was why they had said those untrue things about me.
Jeremy made it known that Henry and Mom had always been partial to their adopted daughter, Julianne. It was to the point where they had never faulted her no matter how big of a mistake she made.
In fact, Jeremy even revealed that Julianne had tried several times to take my life and had been arrested for it.
However, my parents had thought she was innocent and had instead villainized me, despite me being their biological daughter. Henry and Mom had also blamed me for Julianne’s accidental death.
As such, Jeremy implored everyone not to believe a word my parents had said. After all, their impression of me was illogically skewed toward the negative.
Back when I still had amnesia, the relationship drama between Irvin, Julianne, and me had been widely circulated online. People recalled this because of Jeremy’s words, and they soon dug it back up.
In doing so, they were reminded of how they had called Mom crazy because of how unfairly she had treated Julianne and I. Julianne was adopted, yet Mom treated her so well. Meanwhile, she treated me, her own flesh and blood, so poorly.
The public couldn’t believe they had believed my parents‘ words so easily, given their previous opinion. Because of this, online public outrage came to an abrupt halt—the sudden silence was deafening.
Soon after, Gideon also spoke out on my behalf despite his family’s objections.
He showed everyone receipts for the smart medical devices I had donated, along with the research write–up I had done on the disabled community. He also swore on his life that I wasn’t an “academic seductress “ , nor had I ever slept around to steal others ‘ research achievements.

Truthfully, I was touched by Jeremy’s and Gideon’s actions. Growing up, I had been starved of affection. That was why I always had the urge to repay any kindness shown to me tenfold.
So, I couldn’t help feeling moved when Jeremy stood up for me, even if he was only doing so for personal gain.
The same went for Gideon.
He owned a pharmacy chain, so his business was reliant on the public. By speaking up for me, Gideon had put his family’s business in the spotlight. If I couldn’t clear my name, their business would suffer huge losses. A large number of stores might even close down if the public boycotted them.
Despite knowing this, Gideon didn’t prioritize his family’s business. Instead, he had stood up for me and supported me.
Thus, I had to win this battle completely–not just for myself but for everyone who supported me.
I finished all the necessary preparations just in time for the last day of the Global Technology Forum. Lyle had woken up from his coma some time ago.
As part of my plan, I headed to the summit with him because he was needed to prove my innocence.
