Irvin remembered it all.
He remembered how immensely shocked his twin brother, Timothy, had been when they saw each other onboard the cruise ship. Irvin also remembered how Timothy had sacrificed himself for him.
Before, when Irvin still had amnesia, he had judged the situation like any ordinary person would.
Despite being twins, he had believed Timothy would be unfeeling toward him, given that they had never met. As such, Irvin had assumed Timothy couldn’t have possibly died to save him.
He had also been convinced there was something off about the story when the Hardwells‘ staff claimed Timothy had really saved him.
However, now that Irvin had recalled what had happened, he felt ashamed for being so petty and suspicious.
The two of them weren’t just brothers but twins. And despite having never met, Timothy had unhesitatingly given his life for Irvin.
Irvin also recalled Timothy’s final words before he died. In his last moments, Timothy had entrusted Grace and his unborn child to Irvin’s care.
At this memory, tears welled up in Irvin’s eyes as he took in the bleeding Grace in his arms.
“Hold on! You have to hold on for Timothy’s sake!” he cried out.
Grace was a highly intelligent woman.
Even in such unbearable pain, she had still noticed the change in Irvin’s gaze. So when he had said Timothy’s name with such emotion , she immediately realized he had regained his memories.
Grace closed her eyes in pain but was actually smiling inside. She thought to herself that even fate was on her side.
I was once again in a detention center.
The last time I had been here, I hadn’t been worried because I had been sure I was innocent. Back then, I had also believed I could find the evidence to prove this.
But this time, I couldn’t keep myself from panicking. I also had no idea what to do.
Because, in this world, sometimes the innocent were wrongly charged with crimes. Even though they had done nothing wrong, they were still guilty in everyone else’s eyes.
My first thought was to investigate what Grace had jabbed me with and use that to try and find a way out of this. However, there wasn’t a single mark on my arm. I didn’t see any puncture wound, scratch, or sign that something had pricked me.
Feeling trapped in a dead end, I curled up in a corner of the detention cell and racked my brain for a possible way out of this situation. However, I couldn’t think of anything.
Mrs. Rudford came to visit me later that night.
My heart sank when I saw the weight of her expression.
“Grace’s child…”
I tried to ask, but couldn’t finish the question.
However, Mrs. Rudford knew what I was trying to ask. So after a heavy pause, she answered, “They couldn’t save him.” Irvin had managed to rush Grace to the hospital in time, but the baby couldn’t be saved. Because of this , the hospital had

performed an emergency labor induction , and Grace had given birth to a stillborn but fully formed baby boy .
Agatha had fainted on the spot upon learning this.
I felt as though I had been dropped into ice–cold water upon hearing that Grace had lost her baby. My whole body felt terrifyingly numb as the color drained from my face.
Seeing this, Mrs. Rudford reached out and held my hand.

“Don’t be afraid, Ms. Quill,” she reassured. “I’ve already notified Mr. Ashford about what happened. He said he’ll return to Lestoria as soon as possible. And once he steps in, maybe…”

However, Mrs. Rudford couldn’t finish her sentence with confidence. Aside from the numerous eyewitnesses, she had also checked the surveillance footage. But no matter the angle, it still looked as though I had pushed Grace.
Besides, even if William did step in, the Hardwells were no less powerful than the Ashfords. Plus, we were in Lestoría, not Redwood. As such, he might not be able to help me find a way out of this.
I didn’t respond because I didn’t know what to say.
Everything Mrs. Rudford could think of, I had already thought of too.
I knew that even if William returned and wanted to help me for Noah’s sake, he might not be able to. William might not be able to clear my name and get me out of this.
