After they had dealt with company matters for the day, Magnus walked up to Irvin and patted him on the shoulder.

Irvin lowered his gaze and merely hummed apathetically in response.
Magnus didn’t pay any mind to his cold response. Considering everything they had done to Irvin , it would be strange if he were still lively instead of indifferent.
He knew Irvin was unhappy with what had happened. However, he believed Irvin would change his mind once he was standing at the highest peak.
Regardless of everything that had happened, Magnus trusted Irvin would see things differently once he had tasted the benefits of absolute power.
And once that happened, Magnus believed he would understand everything Magnus had done had been for his own benefit.
“Let’s go!” Magnus repeated.
He patted Irvin on the shoulder again before exiting the study.
Irvin’s gloomy gaze darkened even more as he watched Magnus‘ departing figure.

Agatha hoped to live long enough to watch over her grandchildren. However, should the truth be revealed, she was afraid of the impending fallout from the part she had played.
Because of this, Agatha’s initial plan of hiring a hitman to kill Irvin in an accident had morphed into a different plot Using toxic drug and food combinations, she would gradually and discreetly poison Irvin to death.
