Thanks to the projects William had granted her, she had been able to leverage 5% of Keller Group’s shares from her father. On top of that, she had also bought scattered shares in secret. Hence, if she could get more shares from him, she would soon become the largest shareholder in Keller Group.
William took a light sip of his drink before he spoke. “I recall telling you that the project I gave you would be the last, Mrs. Hardwell–and you agreed to that. So, what exactly are you doing now? Careful notto be too greedy that you bite off more than you can chew.”
His words were a merciless jab at her, but Grace didn’t even flinch

Having set her sights on this project ages ago, she had come prepared. Hence, she was confident she could convince William to partner with her again for this project.
In the end, he agreed–just as she hoped. Overjoyed, Grace felt that the day she would soon be in power was just around the corner. If she weren’t pregnant, she would’ve had a few celebratory drinks.
Blinded by her triumph, she believed everything was unfolding exactly as she had planned. Because of this, she didn’t notice the bloodlust in William’s eyes.
However, Irvin did–which was why he approached William when William was alone.
William raised an eyebrow at Irvin upon seeing him. Irvin didn’t immediately speak. Instead, he offered a cigarette, but William didn’t take it.
Not even the least bit embarrassed by this, Irvin simply lit one for himself. It was obvious from the way he took a drag that he was new to smoking.
Irvin had never touched a cigarette before because I hated the smell of cigarette smoke. But now, he could go through a pack a day.
Irvin still didn’t speak, and William simply ignored him. It wasn’t until Irvin had finished his cigarette that he finally looked at William.
“That deal you signed with Grace last time–you’re not just allowing her to profit from it for free, aren’t you.ou’re actually out to ruin her. Am I right?” Irvin asked.
William narrowed his eyes slightly. He was a little surprised that Irvin had discovered the hidden trap he had laid for Grace.
But then, he thought about the brilliant projects Irvin had recently delivered at Hardwell Group, and his surprise faded.
Without a doubt, Irvin was a resourceful and capable player in the business world.
Intrigued, William raised an eyebrow and asked, “Are you asking because you’ve fallen for her?”
His attention had been entirely on Ava and her illness recently. So, William hadn’t been paying much attention to me and Irvin. Because of this, he didn’t know what had happened between us. And now, Irvin—who had held onto me so dearly–was having a child with Grace.
“No. Like you, I want to destroy Grace completely,” Irvin replied.

He couldn’t resist pulling out another cigarette as he spoke.
William scowled upon hearing this and clicked his tongue in disdain.
He was an intelligent man. So, that one sentence from Irvin was enough for him to guess the rest.
Irvin might be a brilliant businessman, but he had still grown up in a relatively sheltered environment. He hadn’t had any bitter experiences. So, he hadn’t learned to guard himself enough.
“And it’s not just Grace. I’m not letting Hardwell Group off the hook either,” Irvin added.
Leaning against the wall, he looked at Williain conspiratorially and then proposed, “So, why don’t we work together?”
