“ My people are already on their way to you. When they arrive, just do exactly what they tell you , ” I said.
I had originally planned to wait until my people had arrived in Redwood before contacting Henry about this. It was just as well that he had called me now.
Henry frowned. “Excuse me? For Pete’s sake, I’m still your father, Emilia!”
He had once controlled every aspect of my life, so he obviously wasn’t used to me speaking to him in this
manner.
In an apathetic tone, I reminded him, “When I signed the statement that got you released from police custody, we ceased being father and daughter. Plus, you’ve signed papers to disown me.”
Henry sputtered again when he recalled the disownment papers from back then. “ You- ”
After struggling to form words for some time, he eventually said, “Blood ties can’t be severed with a piece of paper, Emilia. The law doesn’t recognize the document ve signed. So , whether you like it or not, I’m still your biological father!”
I knew the disownment papers didn’t carry any legal weight, which was fine. To me, they did. At most , once Henry was old and too feeble to care for himself, I would pay the minimum law–mandated financial support for his care.

Not wanting to waste another second meaninglessly exchanging words with him, I said in a serious tone, I’ve already had your sweetheart relocated. If you don’t do exactly as I say, you can forget about her getting a new heart and regaining her health. You’ll also never see her again for the rest of your life.”
Henry was dumbfounded. Then, he exploded. “How dare you, Emilia! How dare you!”
Henry couldn’t believe I had the guts to do something like this. But why wouldn’t I?
I had never been a stickler for rules. And it was natural to bend the rules when going up against evil people.
Before Henry could say another word, I hung up. Once he realized the woman he cared so deeply about, was no longer where he had arranged her to be, he would do exactly what I told him.
He immediately called me back, but I declined. When he called me again, I swiftly blocked him./
Mom had always sided with Henry and even shielded Julianne when he had brought her home. Yet, he had kept a secret lover. I couldn’t help chuckling at this thought.
How should I put it? Maybe my mind was a little twisted because I was really looking forward to the day Mom found out. When her favoritism and bias ultimately turned around and bit her in the butt, I wanted to see how she would react.
No longer able to contact me, Henry stared at his phone. He was so furious that he nearly threw it away.
He couldn’t wrap his head around it. I used to be so well–behaved and obedient. He really didn’t understand how I had the nerve to threaten him like this. After all , he was my biological father!
After fuming for a while, he finally remembered what was most important at this moment–Henry had to confirm if I, his ungrateful daughter, had been telling the truth. Thus, he hurriedly made a call.
Upon receiving confirmation that his sweetheart was no longer where he had placed her, Henry lost it.

Completely at ease , I picked up my collagen drink and slowly sipped on it. When I set the mug back down after finishing the drink, my phone rang.
This time, it was William.
“ I’ll be there in 30 minutes, ” he informed.
“Okay.”
He had told me he was taking me somewhere. I had assumed it was for some task that he needed me for. But to my surprise, the place he brought me to was Fabledom.
