Before I could say anything, Henry quickly added, “Don’t talk to about legality issues. I don’t care how you get the heart, just get me a matching one. If you can’t, then we’ll all die together!”
He said his last sentence with such finality that it left no room for doubt. If there was no heart for his sweetheart; he really would do as he said. If his sweetheart didn’t live, then he would take everyone down with him.
I smiled placatingly as I looked at him. “Don’t panic. I didn’t say I wouldn’t get you a heart. I’ve already had William find a matching heart for you.”
Henry’s eyes instantly lit up at my words. “Where is it? When can get it?”
“Right now , if you want. However, you’ll have to harvest the heart yourself, Mr. Quill.”
Henry was a smart man. So, the moment he heard that, he immediately knew something was off. The excited gleam in his eyes quickly turned into suspicion.
“What do you mean by that, Emilia?” he asked. “Why would I need to harvest it myself?”
I didn’t answer him—just clapped my hands together as a signal for the suitable heart to be brought in.
When Henry saw Julianne being escorted in, his expression immediately dropped.
Upon seeing Henry, Julianne looked as though she had just seen her savior. “Help me, Dad! Please save me!”
She looked pleadingly at him, signalling with her eyes to hurry up and use Ava’s life to threaten me into letting her go.
Henry had always been on the same wavelength as Julianne. So, he naturally understood what she was trying to say.
Turning to me, he sternly said, “Ava’s body hasn’t been fully healed yet, Emilia! Why have you had Lianne dragged here? Are you saying you don’t want Ava to be cured?”
Feigning innocence, I replied, “But isn’t your first love running out of time? Didn’t you say that if she didn’t get a heart transplant immediately, it would be too late, even if a suitable one came along later?”
“Yes, that’s true. But what does that have to do with Lianne? Why have you brought her here?” Henry questioned.
“Why, to use her heart to save the life of your first love, of course! You should know there’s no heart in this world that’s more compatible than Julianne’s! ” I answered.
Henry’s face turned pale at an alarming speed. “You… You… You…
He wanted to ask how I knew this. But he couldn’t say a single thing even after sputtering for a long time.
The completely clueless Julianne had been abruptly dragged here straight from a wild party. When she heard me say her heart was going to be used to save the life of Henry’s first love, she instantly exploded.

Julianne was indignant that I actually planned on using her heart to save some woman when she was still living and breathing.
