Chapter 559
For the sake of getting a heart and protecting Julianne, Henry had eliberately not crafted the final dose of Ava’s antidote. And without this final dose, there was no way Ava would be completely ured.
Icoolly replied, “You’re not the only one with a gift for toxicology and antidote research, Mr. Quill Surely you know that no matter how good you are, there’ll always be someone better than you out there.
“And you should also be aware that someone like William would never allow you to hold Ava’s life in your hands indefinitely.”
Henry’s face grew paler as I spoke. Given what I just said, he now understood that Ava no longer needed him.
Before he could say anything else, I added with clear impatience, “Stop wasting time, Mr. Quill–make your choice! If you don’t, I’ll simply have Julianne escorted straight to prison.”
Julianne had just calmed down. Once she had, the drug–induced disorientation had kicked in again. She had been groggy and barely able to keep her eyes open. But when she heard I was going to send her to prison , her eyes instantly flew open.
Locking her eyes on Henry, Julianne cried, “Dad, save me!”
The woman Henry loved so much was currently standing at death’s door and waiting for him to save her too. So, when he met Julianne’s pitiful and pleading gaze, he couldn’t control his anxiety and wanted to go crazy.
Julianne and Regina were both people he loved most and couldn’t bear to lose. And the more Henry thought about it, the more unbearable the idea of something happening to either woman became.
“How could you be so cruel, Emilia!” he roared, like a madman. “Even if you refuse to acknowledge Lianne as your sister, as a human being, how can you do this? She and Regina are both living breathing people!”
I chuckled sardonically at his words. “So only their lives count and others don’t? Did you think a suitable heart would just fall out of the sky? Or do you think hearts were like other organs that can be donated without jeopardizing your life?
“Also, aren’t you cruel and vicious too? When Julianne faked her and needed a new identity all those years ago, you burned another woman alive to make it happen. Did that woman’s life not matter?”
When I found out Henry had been the one who helped Julianne fake her death, to be honest, it was hard to accept.
He was very biased and treated his sweetheart’s daughter well. However, Henry carried Grandma’s genes. She was such a good person and was keeping him in line too. So, I had assumed, at the very least, he wasn’t completely beyond redemption.
Truly, no matter what I imagined, I never would’ve thought Henry was the one culprit who had helped Julianne fake her death. He had even taken another life to do so.
“What do you mean I burned someone alive? I’ve never done such a thing! All I did back then was ask that criminal organization to help Lianne get a new identity. I had no idea that was how they would do it!” Henry argued.
He admitted he wasn’t exactly a good man. However, Henry would never commit a crime as serious as murder.
Grandma was widowed young and had worked hard to raise him. Henry knew what she had gone through, so there were still
some lines he refused to cross.
I internally exhaled in relief when I heard Henry still had some kind of moral baseline.
It wasn’t because I still had any expectations from him as a father. Instead, it was because I didn’t want Grandma to be crushed with sorrow and guilt.
I didn’t want her to blame herself for not raising him properly or for him turning out to be pure evil.
“Look at me, Emilia. Look at the kind of person I am. Even someone like me wouldn’t do anything life–threatening to others. So, you definitely can’t either, right?” Henry said.
He added, “I know Lianne has done many terrible things to you and deserves to be punished for it. However you want to punish

her , I’ll take it in her place. So , just let her go. And please, save Regia!”
