Chapter 611
Earlier, Henry had been too busy feeling relieved that Regin was okay. He had also been preoccupied with thinking about how incompetent the hospital she had gone to must have been to have actually issued a wrong medical report.
Because of this, he hadn’t thought over the situation carefully. But after hearing what I said, he began to. He realized I had a point. What kind of hospital not only misdiagnosed someone, but multiple times after?
Something like this was simply impossible. So, if all the reports Henry had seen were wrong, then the only explanation was that they had all been forged.
In other words, Regina had known all this time that she never had a heart disease. She had been faking her so- called heart condition.
Regina’s heart had been fine all along. Yet, she had insisted on getting another heart anyway. This only meant someone else genuinely did have a heart disease and truly needed a heart transplant.
To put it simply, Henry had worried himself sick over Regina when she had faked having a heart disease for someone else’s sake. He had been willing to do anything to get her that heart and had even threatened his own mother’s life to do so.
At this thought, Henry looked at Regina with unbearable anguish.
At that moment, Regina came to her senses and realized I was manipulating Henry into dealing with her. If she handled this well, not only could she survive, but the man she loved most could too.
She was so caught up in this hope that she didn’t even notice the agony in Henry. She even excitedly grabbed his arm and exclaimed, “Didn’t you say you love me most, Henry? That you’d do anything for me? Can you give me your heart?”
Regina looked up at Henry, her eyes glistening, her gaze pitiful and pleading.
In the past, his heart would ache terribly whenever he saw her like this. He would do everything to get her what she wanted. But now, Henry no longer felt the same heartache. Instead, he felt a bone–deep chill.
It was as though he had been taken from a hot summer’s day and transported to a frozen wasteland that was dozens of degrees below freezing. He felt so cold that it was as though his heart had frozen and was about to shatter.
“What’s wrong, Henry? Why aren’t you saying anything? Didn’t you say you’d do anything for me?” Regina asked.
She looked displeased, staring at him accusingly because Henry hadn’t responded to her request. The moment he met her eyes, his frozen heart shattered into a thousand pieces.
“You’re asking for my heart, Regina! My heart!” Henry argued.
Humans only had one heart, which was the most vital organ in the body. It wasn’t like donating a kidney or part of a liver, where one could still continue living after. Once someone lost their heart, they would be done for. They would be dead.
Yet, Regina could still make such a request without the slightest hesitation. She had even scolded Henry for not replying and agreeing to it.
Realizing that what she was asking for meant his death, her displeased and accusatory gaze was instantly replaced by an unprecedented look of pity.
“I know I shouldn’t be asking this of you, Henry, but you heard your daughter too. If you don’t donate your heart,

I’ll die! Can you really just stand by and watch me die?” she asked.

Henry had always spoiled Regina and indulged her every whim. So, even though she knew her chances of success were slim, she still gave it a try.
After all, Henry doted on her so much. And if Regina was successful, it would be as though she had hit the jackpot.
As Henry stared at her, he really wanted to ask if she could bear to watch him die. But then, he thought about how Regina had made such a request to him so easily. He realized asking her this would serve no purpose other than to humiliate himself.
Shaken by everything, Henry’s body swayed on his feet. Looking at Regina directly, he demanded, “Who’s the one who really needs a heart?”
