Timothy and Agatha failed to realize that their confidence was only their wishful thinking and assumption. In reality, Irvin’s sense of reason wasn’t impaired.
Yes, he did love me deeply. And yes, despite feeling Agatha couldn’t have done anything to me, he did make the trip to see her. However, it was only because he refused to risk anything else happening to me.
Irvin wouldn’t do so stupidly without looking into things first.
He had been the one to commit Agatha to the psychiatric hospital. So, if she could bribe someone on the inside after getting committed, then so could he.
After agreeing to visit her, Irvin had contacted his informant in the psychiatric hospital to ask about Agatha’s current condition. He had asked if she really had attempted suicide so frequently that she could no longer be sedated.
Irvin’s informant reported that she hadn’t been making a particularly big fuss recently and that she hadn’t even brought up ending her life the night before. Upon hearing this, Irvin immediately realized something was off.
After ending the call, the first thing he did was contact the police. Once they had confirmed Timothy’s last known direction of escape, he became even more certain that Timothy had fled to Hospital 320.
Irvin had always known Timothy planned on making him his scapegoat. So, it wasn’t hard for him to figure out that Timothy was using Agatha to lure him to the psychiatric hospital.
Even so, he still went. Because more than Timothy wanting him dead, he wanted Timothy dead even more. Only Timothy’s death would bring Irvin true peace. This would be their final battle.
Irvin had never enjoyed toying with his enemies. He preferred swift, decisive methods that completely annihilated them, once and for all–especially for a foe like Timothy.
Timothy was inherently evil and extremely capable. Every extra day someone like him was allowed to live was another day of risk.
Irvin had naturally assumed someone as villainous as Timothy would surely be given the death sentence once he had been caught. However, things didn’t play out as he had expected.
A few days ago, Irvin was discussing Timothy’s case with his lawyer. The lawyer agreed that Timothy had committed numerous crimes and was unquestionably a dangerous man.
Even so, most of his offenses weren’t committed domestically, and the ones that were weren’t severe enough to warrant a death sentence.
Even with all the domestic charges combined, the harshest punishment Timothy might receive was merely a life sentence in prison. It wasn’t possible to push for the death penalty.
Lifetime imprisonment might be a very severe punishment for most criminals. But for someone like Timothy, it wasn’t enough. After all, it only meant he would be able to escape at any time. And once free, he could hurt me or mine and Irvin’s children again.
So, ever since that conversation with his lawyer, Irvin had been thinking about how he could eliminate Timothy.
He had originally planned to bribe some death row inmates in prison and have them find an opportunity to off Timothy once he was inside. However, before Irvin had time to execute his plan, he received word of Timothy’s intention to escape.
Getting rid of Timothy outside meant he would be able to watch as it happened. Thinking of this made him realize

that this way would give him more assurance. Thus, Irvin went along with it and allowed Timothy to escape successfully.
The two of them were identical twins, after all. So, somehow, they telepathically wanted to use the same situation to bring about the other’s death.
Irvin was already aware that Timothy had obtained a lot of high–grade sedatives from Henry. So, there was no way he would walk into this without some precautions.
While it might look as though he had visited Agatha cluelessly, in reality, he had prepared everything he needed in the short time he had.
Agatha met with Irvin and managed to keep him talking for over a minute. She couldn’t keep herself from smirking at her perceived success. Right at that moment, he closed his eyes and pretended to pass out.
Seeing Irvin collapse, Agatha exhaled in relief. Still, to be safe, she shook him hard a few times. Once she was sure he was truly unconscious, she waved toward the spot where Timothy was hiding.
