Having such uncontrollable desire only made Emilia want to cut ties with Irvin even more after she returned to her senses. She really didn’t want to be in endless pain again and waste her time and life away.
Worried that the pregnancy test kits weren’t accurate enough, she went to the hospital to do another test. When the results came out negative and proved that she only had pharyngitis, she let out a breath of relief.
After Emilia suppressed all the unnecessary feelings in her heart , she was prepared to go home. Suddenly, she received a call from Cordelia.
“Darling, check out the news now! Irvin is going to have a child with Grace! That damn shameless bastard… I can’t believe he knocked someone up while wooing you! How could there be someone as disgusting as him? He truly disgusts me!”
Cordelia was so furious that it felt like she was going to kill someone. Meanwhile, Emilia just stood there in a daze. After a long while, she finally heard Cordelia calling her name and returned to her senses.
“Are you alright, darling?” Cordelia asked worriedly.
“I’m fine,” Emilia answered with her gaze lowered, and she chuckled. At that moment, she could finally give up. It seemed like even fate didn’t want her to be with Irvin anymore, and they were going to cut ties completely.
Knowing how much Emilia loved Irvin, Cordelia didn’t stop worrying about her. Instead, she became even more anxious after hearing Emilia say she was fine.
“Let me know if you’re upset, darling. Don’t bottle up your feelings…”
“I’m fine, really. In fact, I’m feeling great right now. After all, Irvin is having a child with Grace…”
When Cordelia heard Emilia accepting the truth and finally giving up on Irvin , she also let out a breath of relief. “It’s great news, so we need to celebrate! Wait for me, darling! I’m heading back to celebrate with you now!”
Although she had stopped worrying, she still wanted to see Emilia and be by the latter’s side. After all, Emilia loved Irvin deeply. Even if she had given up on him completely, it would still hurt a lot So, Cordelia wanted to stay with her and help her get through the pain together.
Cordelia was Emilia’s best friend, and she knew what was on Emilia’s mind without having the latter say anyth… Because of that, Emilia felt a warmth inside her, and it suppressed the disappointment she felt earlier when she learned that she wasn’t pregnant at all.
After the call ended, Emilia was ready to head home. Then , she received a call from the butler taking care of her grandmother, Lauren.
He told Emilia that Lauren’s heart suddenly started to hurt. When she heard that, she dropped everything she had in mind and rushed to the hospital where Lauren was.
Meanwhile, William received a report from his man in Lestoria City. “Sir, we’ve found the security guard from the island where you were in trouble previously.”
When he met Grace on a business trip back then, he had forgotten something and returned to the hotel to get it. Then, he heard what she said at the entrance and had a feeling that the truth was far from what she claimed to be. Instead, she might have saved him for another reason.
So, William got someone to look into his rescue again. Then, he found out that the entire security team at the hotel had been changed the day after he was in trouble. He didn’t believe there were such things as coincidences , so he figured that someone was plotting against him.
He became even more certain when all the members of the original security team ran into trouble after they were swapped. At that moment, only the leader of the team was still alive , but he was nowhere to be found.
William put down the documents in his hands and leaned back into his chair. “Bring him in.”
