Lauren stood frozen in shock as she watched William collapse right before her eyes.

William’s love and sacrifice left Emilia truly at a loss for what she was feeling. She also wasn’t in the mood to explore her feelings either. Her entire heart and mind were consumed with praying that he would be safe and okay.
Sensing her granddaughter’s distress, Lauren reached out and took Emilia’s hand.
“Don’t worry. A man like Mr. Ashford will surely come through unscathed,” she said, trying to comfort her .
