clash.
However, the moment Rye stepped in, the ground shook beneath our feet, the vibration traveling up my legs. Her aura got everyone’s attention. The silence that fell was palpable, pressing against my ears until they rang. Everyone froze there, staring at the Silver Wolf, twice larger than an average he-wolf, her powerful jaws clamped around a gray wolf’s neck, lifting him as if he weighed nothing. Kyros’s body twitched weakly, blood trailing down Rye’s fur.
“What the fuck!” a whisper came, terrified and confused, the speaker’s breath hitching.
“Is that a gray wolf in the mouth? Who is this?” another joined, voice cracking as bodies pressed closer to the bars. Everyone gathered in their cells, staring at Rye, who looked nothing short of a majestic existence.
“It’s a she-wolf!” someone gasped, his eyes widening. “Oh goodness! It’s a Morita p>
“What? How could a Mortia be here? They’re secretive!” another joined, panic lacing his tone.
“Are you an idiot? Look at her,” someone hissed. “Silver fur, twice the average, and her eyes p>
“Oh God. She is beautiful!” another made an inappropriate moan, eyes roaming over Rye shamelessly.
Rye walked straight, her steps slow and deliberate, without stopping, ignoring their existence like they were some pest, Kyros didn’t move or make any further noise, his claws scraping weakly once against the stone before going still. Knowing that one wrong move could cause his death, his body remained rigid in her hold.
As we walked through, Rye paused. Her grip tightened slightly before she turned her head and glanced at the cell where Alex died. My fingers curled at my sides without me realizing it. That day he told me to stay away from the Mortias. He knew that I was Mortia.
Although I had no love left, my chest still tightened for a brief second. He didn’t deserve death. Cheaters were disgusting.. but death wasn’t something they deserved.
“Let’s go, Rye,” I said, my voice steady despite the faint pressure in my throat, pushing us lightly to move forward. Some past wasn’t going to come back, and it wasn’t worth reminiscing.
“Don’t do it!” Kyros’s voice was weak when he stirred, his body jerking slightly in Rye’s hold. “You can’t win this war. The region is mine. Cassian has always been a discarded pawn in my game p>
“Sorry, but Cassian is out of the game now. New player is in the ganie!” I snorted, tightening our jaws just enough to make him choke. “The game has changed p>
It took another two minutes for us to arrive at the end of the dungeon. Our steps slowed when I heard them, Elle and Carolyn’s voices, raised and sharp.
“If you hadn’t failed to manipulate him properly, I wouldn’t have lost Marco and my child,” Elle’s voice was sharp and accusatory.
“I failed?” Carolyn snorted, “Who gave the suggestion of making it a kidnapping case p>
“Are you blaming me for that? You agreed that this was the best option p>

Rye’s body blocked the hallway light completely, her shadow stretching over them. The area was darker than the other side of the valley, thick with the scent of wolfsbane and other poisonous herbs that grew well in the dark.
When Rye’s shadow reached them, both Carolyn and Elle turned toward the door. Their faces looked drawn, eyes sunken, if they had aged years within a day.

“Fine. Until then, good luck.” I shifted back, the motion smooth, and closed the cell door.
“Where are you going? You think you can leave us here?” Kyros lunged forward, trying to grab the door. I slammed it against his face, the sound echoing through the dungeon.
“Kyros,” I leaned closer, meeting his eyes, my voice low. “You shouldn’t have betrayed Cassian. I will make sure you know why p>
He froze, his face turning pale.” No. You are not doing anything. It’s my Region. I will be the Alpha King p>
I turned and looked at the guards, who hadn’t dared make a sound until now.
“Replace this door with silver ones. Make sure they can’t get out of here p>
The guards tensed and nodded. “Yes, Your Highness p>
“No. You won’t,” Carolyn growled, trying to reach me through the barred door.

I walked away, my back straight despite the ache in my chest, knowing that whatever was coming next, I needed to grow stronger to protect his pack. Kyros might have been weak and easy to deal with, but judging by the timing and planning, he wasn’t alone.

I walked out of the dungeon soon after. I needed to go back home. The fighting was still ongoing.
But before I could head in that direction, a strong scent hit my nostrils. My steps faltered, my breath catching as the world tilted.
The woods were replaced with a small pond, blooming water lilies, and a black swan.
“Where is it?” Rye sounded frantic, her voice echoing in my mind. “We are foreseeing p>
But I couldn’t move. My limbs felt heavy. I smelled sweet flowers, then heard Candy’s low grunt.
“Candy?” I whispered, trying to turn, to move, but my body wouldn’t respond. And that was when I smelled him.
“Cassian,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “Cassian… are you there? Please answer.” I tried to step forward, my leg trembling. Tears streamed down my face before I could stop them. “I love you, okay? I won’t blame you for abandoning me. I don’t blame you for choosing another person. Just come back to me please. I beg you. I miss you. Please…” I cried out loud, my heart bleeding.
Just then, An arm reached my shoulder, making me flinch.
“Your Highness… are you okay? His Majesty isn’t here p>
My eyes snapped open, my breath coming uneven. I turned finding her standing beside me.
“Sarah?” I whispered.
“You have been calling His Majesty,” she said, her eyes shining with tears. “I’m sorry. I think you need some rest.” She hugged me tightly. “I’m sorry. I’m really sorry p>
I stayed silent, my hands slowly curling into fists at my sides, forcing myself to stand straight.
