Odessa and I went to her room after getting the guards, Marcellus and Layla to deal with the aftermath of the dead head guard, Alaric.

“Let’s not go overboard, Kaelos.” Odessa interrupted with a giggle, placing her free hand on my face. “Gods, I love you. Despite everything going on, I’ve never been this happy in my life.”

Her fingers brushed my cheek gently as my smile brightened.
