Black Tiger gave him a quick glance. “You’ll work with her.”
Too frightened to argue, Silver Snake turned on Rylie, yelling, “Hurry up and apologize! You should be grateful we didn’t toss you into the sea for the sharks!”
Rylie leaned back on the leather sofa, her posture relaxed as she tapped the armrest with her fingers. “Since we’re on the topic of the sea, I was just about to ask, how exactly did you get your hands on my cargo?”
Black Tiger’s expression hardened, his gaze sharpening. “What did you just say?”
Rylie rose and walked toward Black Tiger, prompting the casino guards to raise their weapons at once.
Black Tiger didn’t flinch. He didn’t see her as a threat, just a woman daring to step too close. “Who sent you?” he asked coldly.
Rylie perched on the edge of the desk, casually flipping the crystal ashtray in her hand. “That gun of yours,” she said with a faint smile. “Does it shoot clean?”
The moment her voice faded, she swung her slender arm without warning, slamming the crystal ashtray against Black Tiger’s skull.

“I swear, I don’t know!” Black Tiger wheezed, trembling. “The deputy mayor had the stuff pulled from the black market and sent here for me to move. I saw the high-grade gear and assumed it was just smuggled tech, not official military stock! Selling it through the casino seemed safe. I had nothing to do with intercepting your shipment; I’m just the handler!”
“No clue, huh?” Rylie’s voice dropped cold as her heel dug in harder. “Then you’re worthless to me.”
As his windpipe threatened to collapse beneath her heel, Black Tiger gasped out, “Ronan, Ronan Boyd! The last batch wasn’t from the black market; it came straight from Ronan’s bar for the handoff! Please, that’s all I know! Can you let me go now?”
