With hardly a pause, Rylie took a sip of water, her calm unwavering. “Have I proven myself as a doctor yet?”
Shame coloring her cheeks, Peachy bowed her head. “I had no idea you’d become this knowledgeable. I was wrong about you. I won’t say another bad word. Thank you for the help, Rylie. I’m heading to the pharmacy to get the medicine right away.”
Rylie replied with quiet grace, “Glad I could help. Thanks for supporting HaloFlow Pharmacy.”
No sooner had Peachy left the chat than a thousand-dollar tip flashed across the screen, landing on the homepage ticker and pulling in another wave of intrigued viewers.
The size of the tip didn’t faze Rylie. She kept her focus, opening a new live connection for the next viewer.
Immediately, another tip — five hundred dollars, twice in a row — lit up the screen.
The boy spoke innocently, unaware he had said anything unusual. “Miss, I saw this page open on my dad’s computer. I was curious, so I clicked on it and saw you. My parents are still at work, but I’m really hurting down there.”
Although he couldn’t read everything yet, he recognized important words like “doctor,” “police,” and “teacher.” He spotted the tags for “consultation” and “treatment” on Rylie’s livestream and decided to join.
Rylie quickly activated a filter to blur his face and gently addressed the audience. “Every child has the right to privacy. I’ll speak with him in private.”
The livestream chat erupted in response.
“Please don’t stop the stream! We won’t take any screenshots!”
“What’s happening to this kid?”
“Something’s not right! Why isn’t he in school? And where are his parents? I really hope this isn’t what it looks like!”
Disregarding the barrage of comments begging her to stay live, Rylie calmly shut off the camera and transitioned to a private session with the boy. A placeholder appeared on the screen, informing viewers that the host had stepped away temporarily.
Despite the blackout, viewer numbers kept climbing, soon topping ten thousand. Rylie added the boy’s account as a friend and sent a private video request. Her voice was gentle as she asked, “Are both of your parents at work? Is there anyone else with you right now?”

Rylie nodded gently and asked, “Can you tell me exactly where it hurts, or would it be okay if I took a look?”
Gavin gave a small nod and carefully climbed onto a chair. Facing the screen, he pulled down his pants, revealing severe swelling and blood on his underwear. Rylie’s expression shifted at once. Though she kept her voice calm and soothing, a note of urgency crept in.
“Alright, Gavin. You did really well. I understand what’s happening now.”
