“No, of course not. But you do need to go to the hospital for treatment,” Rylie replied softly. “Do you have a phone with you?”
Kael shook his head.
“Do you know your home address?”
He shook his head again, unable to remember the name of his street. Rylie gently asked him to wait for a moment.
Turning around, she reached for the work laptop positioned just outside the camera’s view. As Gavin caught a clearer look at her face, he blurted out, “Wow, you’re really pretty.”
Rylie gave a small smile, continuing the light conversation to keep him calm while she quietly hacked into his father’s account to trace the signal back to the virtual screen with sparkling effects.
Once the shower of digital confetti faded, a new face appeared: a boy, no older than eight, looked into the camera with wide, uncertain eyes. Innocence and a flicker of confusion were written in his gentle gaze.
Shock raced through the audience. “Wait, is the big spender just a little kid?”
Disbelief spread quickly. “He doesn’t even look old enough for second grade. What are his parents thinking, letting him on a stream like this?”

Displaying surprising poise, the young boy read the chat and answered with careful manners, “I turned seven this year. Miss, can you help me? Sometimes my body aches and I don’t know what to do.”

She then contacted the police, gave them the boy’s address, and advised, “The injuries are recent, and there may still be physical evidence. He needs to be taken to the hospital within two hours, and a psychologist should be present for the examination.”

After ending the call, Rylie turned back to the boy and gently asked, “Was your mother home when this happened?”
The child replied, “She usually works late. Most of the time, it’s just me and my dad. My mom says candy is bad for my teeth, so she doesn’t let me have any. But my dad says if I play his game, he’ll give me candy. But I didn’t get any lollipops… just some chocolate sauce here.” He pointed at his private area. “Where I pee.”
A deep, seething anger rose within Rylie, though she kept her voice steady. “That’s not okay. Your father is hurting you. You mustn’t play those kinds of games. When the police come, you need to tell them everything, alright?”
Just then, the boy’s father stormed through the door, furious after realizing someone had accessed his account to send gifts during the livestream. “Gavin! What the hell are you doing on my account? Who did you waste money on?”
The bearded man yanked the boy off the chair, too focused to notice Rylie’s covert connection, and clicked back into the livestream interface.
