I walked down the corridor with a satisfied smile, nodding briefly at the guards along the way. But my mind was far from there.
I closed my eyes for a moment, recalling last night.
I was patrolling the cell block when I passed by the Reaper’s cell and heard moans. It wasn’t unusual to hear that kind of sound coming from his cell, but what made me stop was the peculiar tone–a mixture of desperation and desire.
Out of pure instinct, I stepped closer, peeking through a small gap in the curtain. And what I saw left me fascinated.
The newbie, Elijah Vaughn.

My steps echoed in the corridor as I headed toward the cafeteria. I knew exactly where Elijah would be.
He always sat with that trash, Fox.
I passed by the inmates slowly, scanning each table until I found him. There he was. Hair still damp from a shower. He had no idea what was coming.
My smile widened when I confirmed the Reaper wasn’t around. Perfect. Even better than I expected.
The hunt had begun.
I clenched my fists when I saw him looking so damn comfortable, laughing at something Fox said. Like he was already used to this hell.
I walked over to their table, taking my time, stopping right beside the newbie.
“Hey, newbie p>
His body stiffened, and Fox lifted his head. Both of them turned to face me.
The kid blinked a few times before focusing on me.
“Today, you’ll be cleaning the north wing’s storage room,” I announced firmly, leaving no room for argument.
Confusion crossed his features.
The silence that followed was delicious.
Fox, however, was the first to react.
“But the newbie works with me in the kitchen p>
Of course. Like that mattered.
I crossed my arms, turning my attention to Fox, who glared at me defiantly.
Mind your business, Fox. I’m in charge here, and he’ll work in the storage room p>
The atmosphere around the table turned tense.
I watched the kid clench his fists, his shoulders stiff.
He wasn’t stupid. He knew something was wrong. He could feel it.
But there was nothing he could do.
Finish your food and get moving,” I ordered, walking away without giving them a chance to argue.
