I tried to crawl, desperate, ignoring the agony splitting my body apart, but before I moved more than an inch, another snap tore through the air.
A strangled scream escaped me as his boot came down on my foot, crushing the bones like thin glass.
The pain radiated, violent and consuming, burning through every vein.
The fracture spread like a knife, locking my entire body in paralyzing agony.
Before I could think, he bent down, grabbed my face with brutal force, and yanked me off the ground with inhuman strength.
“You should’ve stayed quiet,” he growled, his eyes glowing with something unholy. “You should’ve ignored my existence p>
His fingers dug into my jaw so hard I heard my bones creak.
“But you messed with Elijah’s head. Made that kid doubt me. Question his feelings p>
His voice thundered like a brewing storm.
“Because of you… I’m feeling things I never wanted to fucking feel, you worm p>
With one savage motion, he hurled me back to the floor. The impact knocked the air out of my lungs again.
I couldn’t breathe.
Couldn’t think.
Couldn’t move.
His foot came down again, this time smashing my fingers against the ground.
The scream that burst out of me was wild, raw, and full of terror.
I curled up, trying to shield whatever was left of me, but it was useless.
I looked around, begging with my eyes.
Some of the inmates were still there, leaning against the walls, watching in silence.
“Help…” I begged, my voice barely a whisper. “Please… help p>
No one moved.
No one blinked.

I was invisible.
Or worse… disposable.
The Reaper’s hand grabbed me again, yanking my hair so hard my scalp burned.
He dragged me across the filthy floor like a rag doll.
Then he slammed my head down, hard.
My face collided with the concrete. I felt something crack inside my mouth–teeth breaking, blood pooling under my tongue.
A trembling, broken moan escaped me.
My mind spun.
The pain was so intense it almost disconnected me from reality.
Everything pulsed.
My heart pounded out of control.
My breathing stuttered, and nausea climbed my throat.
Panic took over.
Sweat coated my skin, my body shaking.
Fear consumed everything.
Every thought. Every shred of pride or hope.
He stood there, just watching me like I was a discarded piece of meat.
Like I was already dead.
The Reaper said nothing for several seconds.
He stared.
The silence pressed down like a coffin lid.
And then… he lifted his chin slightly, never breaking eye contact.
“What the fuck are you all waiting for?” His voice rang out like a death sentence. “Do it p>

The shadows moved.
N–No… I whispered, trying to pull away, but my body wouldn’t respond.
Panic froze me.

They closed in.
One grabbed my leg.
Another knelt beside my torso.
“No!” My voice rose in raw terror. “REAPER, NO p>
But he didn’t move.
He stayed there.
Still.
Watching.
His eyes… black as death.
No emotion.
No hesitation.
Silence.
His face remained cold.
Unforgiving.
I screamed.
I fought.
I begged.
But no one listened.
Or maybe… they heard.
And simply didn’t care.

Everything went black.
Time unraveled,
My body was ripped away from me.
When I woke… or maybe when I clawed my way back to consciousness… I was lying on the cold floor.
Broken.
Exposed.
Vulnerable.
Every inch of me burned with pain.
I felt dried blood stuck to my skin.
The metallic taste still lingered on my tongue.
My muscles wouldn’t respond.
My mind refused to comprehend.
Around me… footsteps.
Laughter.
I had no strength left.
Not even to crawl.
Not even to blink.
I stayed there, feeling life drip out of me, drop by drop.
The sound of boots echoed closer.
They stopped right in front of my face.
Slowly… I lifted my gaze as high as I could.
He stood there.
Staring down at me.
Cold.
