A loud crash came from behind.

Just as she was about to look up, a large hand quickly pushed her head back down.

After saying this, Julian Thorne leapt with her, jumping straight off the roadside.
He landed steadily, and Vivian felt Julian hugging her tightly as he ran.
Until he suddenly stopped.
Only then did Vivian look up, realizing Julian had brought her under a bridge.
Julian nestled Vivian into a hidden corner, covering her with a heap of debris nearby.

Julian saw her sharpness and smiled slightly.
He nodded slightly, then closed his eyes without saying more.
Vivian sensed something was wrong with Julian and quickly turned on her phone’s flashlight.
But before she could shine it on his face, Julian raised his hand to block the light.
