“I swear to you,” she said, her voice firm now, grounding. “You can ask the doctor yourself. It was a stress–induced bleeding. That’s all. The baby is fine. Everything is fine– for now. ”

surgery? Is he okay? Can I see him? What day is it today p>

“You passed out yesterday. It’s a new day today.” She exhaled slowly. “Roman is out of surgery. He’s alive p>
The breath I released was loud, shaky, almost painful. “Oh God,” I whispered. “Thank God p>
“But—” she added carefully, “you can’t see him right now. The doctors advised against it p>
I didn’t care. I didn’t even argue. I just collapsed back against the pillows, covering my face as tears poured down my cheeks. It felt like
waking into a nightmare that refused to end.
“I don’t know what to do anymore,” I sobbed. “Everything feels wrong. Like this isn’t real. Like I’m stuck in some horrible dream I can’t wake up from.” My chest tightened painfully. “It feels like my world is falling apart. I feel like I’m drowning, Alyssa. Like I’m losing my
