The suite was dark, the only source of illumination being the moonlight shining through the windows and the door leading up to the balcony.
I watched as Kaene unfolded his arms, his steps menacing as he advanced toward me.
“I wouldn’t ask again… What was the meaning of all that out there?” His tone was filled with spite and disdain, but there was also something else behind it.
Probably amusement, telling from the small smirk curling up the corner of his lips.
Once again, just like when I was first announced as the Moon’s Chosen, our wolves made a connection, howling desperately for us to make contact.
But I stood my ground defiantly, glaring at him. “What, I can’t take a stroll around the estate? Also, I don’t think I need to go into the details of how Elsa has been a pain in my ass barely a few hours after I was made the Moon’s Chosen p>
As soon as I said that, my eyes subconsciously went to the wall clock.
Darn it, it was way past midnight.
We can’t possibly argue during this unholy hour.
Meanwhile, Kaene harrumphed, walking toward me still. At this point, I nervously began stepping backward, hoping he would stop but that didn’t happen.
I’d stepped backward so much that I didn’t even realize that I’d stepped out of the suite and into the balcony. Not until my back hit the handrail and I almost tripped, of course.
Gasping in shock, I glanced back, taking in the breathtaking view from this height.
Just then, Kaene muttered. “So, you’d rather take a deadly fall than stick around with me, eh p>
My nose scrunched as I swerved my head to have a look at the idiot, but my heart jumped into my throat when I realized that he was standing merely a few inches in front of me, his hot breath hitting my face as he stared down at me.
I gulped, looking away while placing my hands on his chest. “Listen, it’s late. I don’t think we should be doing this p>
“Ah, but this is the best time to do THIS, Phoebe.” He whispered into my ears, his tongue sticking out and tickling my ear lobe.
Oh, dear lord, this guy was a pervert! A deviously attractive one too.
Even though I’d just had a steamy session with Beta Negan, his voice, and promises were enough to turn me on again, my heat coming back slowly as if it had never left.
However, it disappeared almost instantly when I remembered that exact detail. I’d just cheated on Kaene a few minutes ago.
Groaning to myself, I mustered all the self-restraint I could and managed to shove him away. “Sorry Kaene, but no. I’m… I’m just not ready for this yet p>
He arched an eyebrow, taking a couple of steps back while sizing me up.
Eventually, after scrutinizing me until I felt his eyes would pop out, he blurted. “You do remember the terms of our deal, right? Because I can make a simple call to get your brother back into the mansion’s dungeons p>
He pulled out his phone to show he wasn’t playing around, his fingers lingering on the buttons as he dialed a number.
My heart fell into my stomach just then. No!
“Wait!” I held the hand he held the phone with, forcing him to turn his gaze to me. “I– I do remember our deal. And I’m willing to follow through with it and be your Luna in whatever way you desire. But… But p>
I stuttered, biting my lips. I was so overwhelmed with shame that I didn’t even dare look into his eyes.
There was no suspicion in his eyes… But I was afraid they’d appear soon enough if I dared make eye contact.
Suddenly, Kaene yawned, placing a hand over his mouth. “Don’t waste my time, Phoebe. I’m a very busy man p>
Ugh, screw him!
“Just give me more time, Kaene. Just let me be tonight and I promise to do anything you want and please you in whatever way you want.” I pleaded, hating myself for begging him so much.
But if it meant keeping Caleb a free young man, then so be it. I couldn’t let that boy suffer because of my sins.
Besides, Mom and Dad would be crushed if they found out their only son was locked up.
Meanwhile, it seemed Kaene was enjoying this as a stupidly wide grin curled up his lips. “Anything I want, eh?” He repeated, wrapping his right hand around my waist and pulling me closer in the process.
I gulped, trying to control the urges of my wolf who was becoming feral at this point, howling at me to kiss her mate.
Luckily, Kaene didn’t push things too far and merely cupped my face with his left hand before planting a soft kiss on my lips
The kiss wasn’t too passionate but was so short that I found myself yearning for more.
“Very well, then.” He finally let go of my waist, his eyes trailing my body longingly. “I’ll give you just tonight to have a sound sleep. But know this, Phoebe p>
His smile widened, his tone promising. “The coming nights are going to be devoid of rest for you. I will fuck you until you disappear into the world of ecstasy only to pull you back to this mortal plane and fuck you again. Until your body and mind are unable to function without my touch. So, brace yourself p>
I steeled my gaze, staring at him with disgust even though there was also an unexplainable longing simmering inside me.
Anyway, after giving me a wink, Kaene walked away, proceeding to shut the door of my suite behind him and leaving me alone on the balcony.
I clenched my fists, my arms subconsciously wrapping around my body. Gosh, it was a chilly night!
“And the bastard didn’t even bother giving me a jacket.” I scoffed, already dreading the upcoming nights.
They were going to be cold just like this one with Kaene as my mate.
