“ Caleb is making things up. He’s purposely trying to snatch that land from me.” Nicole handed the phone to Hayden.
Caleb was having the time of his life in the video. Anyone would agree that he didn’t look the least bit like he’d just been in danger at all.
Nicole thought Hayden would be angry that Caleb had manipulated him. But Hayden didn’t look the least bit upset at all after watching the video.
He returned the phone to Nicole and said, “Caleb has always been like that. He always distracts himself with pleasure when shit hits the fan. He’d only get more and more depressed if he was alone p>
Nicole’s brows slowly furrowed.
Hayden pinched Nicole’s cheek with a smile. “Don’t worry so much about this anymore, okay? I’ll get your land back, I promise p>
A hint of a sneer appeared in Nicole’s expression. She’d be long dead by the time Hayden got her family
land back for her.
Oh well. She’d accepted the fact that Hayden was very unreliable after seven years of him lying to her.
Nicole quietly went back upstairs. She had no choice but to phone Shawn.
It was night where Nicole was. Meanwhile, Shawn was out in broad daylight experiencing heavy traffic
Shawn was shocked by Nicole’s call. “It’s nighttime for you right, Nicky? What are you calling me at this
hour for? ”
Nicole quickly explained what was going on with their family land to Shawn. The moment she mentioned that Hayden had given the land away because of Caleb, Shawn grew angry.
“Hayden is unreliable and clearly doesn’t respect you at all! It’s perfectly reasonable for you to want to divorce him! Don’t worry. I’ll send my assistant over right now and get our land back.” Shawn was reliable
and doting toward Nicole as usual.
Nicole immediately burst into tears, knowing Shawn was missing her. She quickly wiped her tears away and said in a composed voice, “Okay. Wait a few days more and I’ll be back, Shawn. ”
Shawn was worried about Nicole given there was such a large distance between them. He consoled her for a good long while before they ended the call.
Nicole knew that they were bound to get their land back now that Shawn was helping out. She quickly composed herself and put on makeup.
The sickly, frail woman reflected in her mirror soon looked quite sprightly.
Eugene Dawson, Shawn’s assistant, arrived at the local airport that very night.

Nicole went to pick him up and even booked an entire dining suite for them at a luxurious restaurant.
Eugene had worked for Shawn for more than a decade. To Nicole, Eugene was more family than assistant by now. She was quite affectionate to him too.
“It’s been a long time, Nicole. You’re still as beautiful as the last time we met,” Eugene said as he sat in the car. He was dressed in an elegant and handsome suit.
A genuine smile finally appeared on Nicole’s face. “You don’t need to compliment me, Eugene. I did especially put on makeup today to come and pick you up, though p>
“I should be deeply honored then,” Eugene said with a smile. He then asked worriedly, “I heard from Mr. Jensen that you mean to divorce Hayden Spencer? Did he cheat on you or did he betray you in any other
way p>
Nicole stopped smiling. She didn’t want to discuss this matter, so she just replied vaguely, “I just got bored and don’t want to stay married to him anymore p>
Eugene could tell she wasn’t being honest. He didn’t pursue the matter and instead said calmly, “I’ve
come with strict orders from your brother. He’s told me to recover the land, as well as bring you back p>
“Okay. ” Nicole smiled, “I’m preparing to leave soon too p>
She tugged at her sleeves.
