The ceremony was about to begin. Susan, now a manager in the Zenith Group’s project department—a position that was being hyped up as incredibly impressive -was scheduled to speak as an outstanding alumni representative.
“I don’t have time to reminisce with a washed-up old classmate,” Susan said with
a dismissive flick of her wrist, before pulling Rebecca back inside.
Penelope took out her phone, stopped the recording, and ran outside.
She tried calling Timothy, but he didn’t pick up. She had to call Norton instead.
Norton told her to wait outside the exhibition hall. Ten minutes later, he appeared, dragging Timothy along with him.
She rushed over and handed Timothy her phone.
