At the sight of him, the lead officer released my wrist as though shocked by electricity, rubbing his hands. nervously while his eyes darted around in panic.
The officers may be posted in Calgary, but there wasn’t a shifter division officer in this country who didn’t know who Alpha Lucien Thorne is.
“This is impossible! Jack said she was mated to the Sterling heir. Why is the Alpha of the Crown of
Thornes here?” Susie clutched Solomon’s sleeve, shrinking behind him.
*Jack must have tricked us, trying to steal our inheritance by setting us up. The Thorne family in Calgary is
a bad omen.” Solomon’s voice shook so badly he didn’t dare lift his head.
He and Susie stumbled backward.
“Cowards!” Sullivan swallowed his fear and forced himself to raise his voice, desperate to save face. “So
what if he’s from the Thorne pack? No matter how powerful, he holds no connections here. Calgary
belongs to the Reese family! We have more power and connections here than any Thorne could dream of.

I lifted my gaze, staring blankly at the figure who had appeared out of nowhere.
That brief commotion over the phone had made him race here without hesitation.

Before he could finish, Lucien’s Elite warriors moved like lightning, producing not firearms but cold metal sprayers and sanitation gear.

Liyah and Carson moved to the open window, allowing their wolves to breathe fresh air.
Within seconds of the second spraying, my cousins and the officers were blasted back across the threshold, soaked from head to toe. Water dripped off them in streams, leaving them looking like drowned
rats, and their wolves receded for safety.

Watching the enemies scatter in soaked humiliation, I felt the heavy shadows in my chest finally lift.
“Lucien Thorne! You wait! The Reese family will settle this score with you!” Susie hissed.
“Don’t leave Calgary if you’ve got the balls to stay and face our retribution for this interference! This is our city!” Solomon yelled through his struggles for breath.
Coughing and choking, my cousins staggered backward through the spray, spitting out threats that rang hollow in their desperation, before disappearing in disgrace.
The officers, faces dark with humiliation, said nothing as they rushed into their vehicles and sped away from the place that had stripped them of all authority.
