Across the room, Monty glanced over at Zelda. She looked pale as a ghost-not so much out of guilt, but with bitter regret. She wished now that she’d never brought Calliope back into the family at all.
Worry about the future was written all over her face.
Lisette, meanwhile, was getting roasted online. Now that her lies had been uncovered for everyone to see, she was basically finished-no chance of a comeback this time.
Meanwhile, back at the office, Horatio had been watching the whole drama unfold on livestream.

In the cozy dining room, Calliope raised her glass to toast the happy ending. The whole ordeal was over, and the Jewell family didn’t have a leg to stand on anymore. They’d been thoroughly exposed; there was nothing more they could do.

After a moment, they exchanged a look and shot a nod of approval toward Sitas. Truth be told, the only reason they’d made it in time today was thanks to a heads up from him. He’d handled things well, and they were honestly pretty impressed. s

They ate, drank, and joked around until, finally, everyone drifted off their separate ways.
Over the next few days, there was radio silence from the Jewell family. Online, though, they were getting absolutely dragged, and their company looked like it was headed for bankruptcy.
