Carlisle immediately chimed in. “Julian, Jasper, let me tell you something-don’t get ahead of yourselves. We at Apex have just brought on a phenomenal new consultant, Miss Kensington! She’s going to lead Apex to brand-new heights. When that happens, you’ll be the ones crying while we’re the ones celebrating p>
Victor nodded in agreement. “That’s right. Not only will Miss Kensington take Apex to the top, but her latest proposal is sure to help us win the Sylvester Group’s contract p>
Julian gave a mocking laugh. “Caitlin? Mr. Winslow, Mr. Blake, clearly you don’t know her like I do. Caitlin is my ex-wife-no one knows her better than me. She’s just a country bumpkin who never even finished high school. And you’re pinning all your hopes on a backwater girl like her? It’s laughable p>
Caitlin? She was nothing.

Just then, a deep, commanding voice cut through the noisy conference hall.
The room fell silent. All eyes turned toward the front.
Skyler stood on stage, bowing slightly as he adjusted the microphone. “Good afternoon, everyone. I’m Skyler from Sylvester Group. On behalf of Master Ninth, I’ll be announcing the results of today’s bidding p>
With that, Skyler accepted a sheet of paper from his assistant.
Gordon was always by the book. Not even he knew which company his uncle had chosen until now.

As Skyler glanced at the name on the paper, a flicker of surprise flashed across his face. He turned to look at Julian, the company’s name caught in his throat, drawing out the suspense.
Feeling Skyler’s gaze settle on him, Julian’s confidence soared.
It had to be The Chandler Group. Why else would Skyler look at him that way?
He straightened his suit jacket and rose from his seat, pride radiating from every pore as he prepared to accept the contract from Skyler.
