When Ann arrived at the hospital to visit Hannah, she caught sight of Warren and Jade hurrying out the main entrance, so focused they didn’t even notice her calling out.
Ann frowned slightly. Something must have happened. Was Hannah’s condition getting worse?
She picked up her pace, heading inside. After just a few steps, snippets of gossip reached her ears from a group nearby.
“Did you hear? The Richardses supposedly found some miracle doctor who can do Golden Needle Channel Activation. Looks like there’s hope for Hannah now p>

“If you ask me, this miracle doctor is probably a fraud. The Richardses are just desperate-not ready to watch Hannah slip away, so they’re grasping at straws and willing to believe anything p>
Ann couldn’t help but smirk at their words. A fraud? Perfect. Even fate was on her side.
To win favor with the Richards family, Ann had gone out of her way to invite a highly respected international specialist to treat Hannah. After all, only with a comparison could her own efforts shine. If the so-called miracle worker the Richardses found turned out to be a charlatan, Hannah’s condition might only deteriorate. Then it would be all the more apparent how difficult it had been for Ann to secure a real expert to help.
Even if, in the end, her specialist couldn’t cure Hannah, she could always blame the fraud for making things worse. That way, she’d not only earn a good reputation with the Richardses but also their gratitude for trying her best when others had failed. It was the perfect win-win.
The more Ann thought about it, the more excited she became as she made her way up to the VIP floor.
Before entering the room, she paused to compose herself, smoothing her features into a look of quiet concern. She switched her phone to selfie mode, checking her expression until it was just right-worried but not distressed. Satisfied, she put the phone away and walked in.
The atmosphere in the room was heavy, thick with worry over Hannah’s declining health. All thirteen of Hannah’s grandsons had rushed back home and were gathered together-every single one present.
The Richardses really were a striking family. Ann glanced around; nearly every man in the room looked like he’d walked straight out of a magazine. Apart from Easton, who was already married, the other twelve were still single.
Ann’s heart fluttered wildly. Thank goodness, she thought, that Freya was gone. If Freya were still alive, Ann couldn’t imagine how jealous she’d be.
Thirteen brothers—eight uncles—and, above all, the Richardses had truly cherished Freya, treating her like a princess.
Ann approached Kelley and Elaine with a look of earnest maturity. “Aunt Kelley, Aunt Elaine, please try not to worry too much. I really believe Grandma Hannah will pull through. When I was in school, I met a world-renowned specialist-she’s even more famous internationally than Professor Prescott. I reached out to her last night, and she said she’ll be arriving in Neon Spire tomorrow p>
She continued, “She also told me she has a way to clear Grandma Hannah’s cerebral hemorrhage p>
Elaine turned to Ann. “Ann, thank you for going to all this trouble for our family. But your uncle and Jade have already gone to invite Dr. Kensington. He’s the only one who can perform Golden Needle Channel Activation, and we believe he can cure Grandma Hannah p>
Ann nodded. “I hope so too. I really do hope Dr. Kensington can help Grandma Hannah p>
