Chapter 349
After eating the chocolate, the man still didn’t bounce back right away. Caitlin unwrapped a second piece and gently pushed it into his mouth.
The rich, sweet taste of her favorite chocolate quickly melted on his tongue. “Grandpa, March, let’s help him over to that chair for a moment,” Caitlin said.

Fortune and Celeste supported the young man, guiding him away from the escalator and over to a nearby seat.
A minute or two passed before the man’s awareness slowly returned and his strength began to come back.
Caitlin handed him a few candies. “You really should keep some sugar on you if you have low blood sugar. Here these are for you p>
“Thank you.” He took the candies with both hands, looking a bit sheepish. “I’m Farrell Ryan. May I ask your name, miss p>
“Kensington,” Caitlin replied coolly.
Immediately, Farrell fished a business card out of his pocket. “Miss Kensington, here’s my card. If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to get in touch p>
Caitlin accepted the card politely. “Why don’t you rest a while? You should be fine now. We’ll be heading off p>
“Alright.” Farrell nodded.
Caitlin glanced at Fortune and Celeste. “Grandpa, March-let’s go p>
Farrell watched as the three of them walked away, his fox-like eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
“President Ryan! President Ryan p>
Just then, his assistant came running over from across the hall.
Farrell turned his head slightly.
“Here’s the cola you asked for, sir. Are you alright p>
Farrell had always struggled with low blood sugar.
He’d sensed it coming on and had reached for his emergency stash of sweets, only to realize his pockets were empty. He’d quickly sent his assistant to buy a soda and found a place to sit and wait.
But the moment he stepped onto the escalator, the dizziness hit him anyway.
If Caitlin hadn’t appeared when she did p>
He shuddered to think what might’ve happened if he’d collapsed right there on the moving stairs.
Looking down at the candies in his palm, Farrell’s lips curled into a faint, appreciative smile.
Seems this trip to Silverhaven wasn’t a total loss after all.
“I’m fine now,” he told his assistant. “Let’s go p>
His assistant fell into step beside him.
After dropping Fortune off at home, Caitlin headed out to dinner with Celeste.
They hadn’t hung out together since New Year’s.
When Celeste learned Caitlin wouldn’t be returning to school after the new semester and would only come back in June to sit for the college entrance exams at Silverhaven, she grabbed Caitlin’s hand. “Catie, does that mean I’ll be all alone here from now on p>
“Of course not,” Caitlin reassured her. “Didn’t we promise to get into the same college together p>
Celeste pressed on. “Will I still be your best friend p>
“Always.” Caitlin nodded without hesitation.
Finally, Celeste let out a relieved sigh. “Okay! Then I’m going to work extra, extra
hard so we can both get into The Capital University p>
“Deal. We’ll work hard together. Cheers!” Caitlin raised her glass.
“To us! May the new year bring us even more happiness p>
After dinner, the girls went to a movie and did a little shopping-just like old times.
The next day.
Caitlin arrived at school.
The senior class had already started the new term.
When Caitlin spoke with her homeroom teacher, Ms. Belinda, the woman smiled warmly. “Alright, Caitlin, I trust you. I’ll talk to the principal and make sure your enrollment is held until June so you can come back for the exams p>
If it were anyone else asking for nearly half a year off, Ms. Belinda would’ve been worried. But this was Caitlin.
Last semester, Caitlin had ranked first in all six final subjects-total score, 745. She’d beaten Carson, the usual top student, by a full twenty points.
When Carson’s scores were announced, everyone assumed he’d reclaim his title as the grade’s number one. No one expected Caitlin to blow everyone away with a 745.
At that thought, Ms. Belinda seemed to remember something. “By the way, do you want to be in the graduation photo p>
“Of course.” Caitlin smiled. She’d only spent a semester with this class, but she genuinely loved the atmosphere, and everyone had been so welcoming.
Ms. Belinda nodded. “The school’s planning to take the graduation photo in mid- May I’ll let you know the exact date later p>
“Thank you, Ms. Belinda p>
With the paperwork done, Caitlin headed to her classroom to greet her classmates.
The moment she walked in, the room erupted with cheers.
Someone whistled.
Someone else screamed.
“Our class queen p>
“Caitlin’s back p>
Standing at the front of the room, Caitlin grinned. “Thank you, everyone, for making me feel so welcome. Even though we’ve only spent a semester together, I truly love this class. For personal reasons, I’ll be living in The Capital for a while and probably won’t be back until the exams in June. I’ll miss you all p>
