“Who says I’m a lone wolf?” Gordon shot Will a look, suddenly more talkative. My girlfriend is the most beautiful woman in the universe. He had promised Caitlin he’d keep their relationship a secret, but Wildwasn’t connected to his circle in Eldermere Besides what was the point of having a girlfriend if you couldn’t show her off a little?

up the couch. “Master Ninth! You have a girlfriend? Since when? Didn’t you used to say you would never get married?” How did he suddenly have a girlfriend? Will felt fike he was dreaming. He couldn’t even imagine what kind of woman could possibly be worthy of Gordon, who, in his eyes, was practically a god Gordon had descended from the heavens to save him from an enemy encampment, and then, at the peak of his legendary military career, he had walked away without a second glance to dominate the world of finance.
“I said I wouldn’t get married,” Gordon corrected him in a low, even tone.
“Tsk, tsk.” Will’s eyes narrowed
playfully. “So you’re just going to string her along? I seem to recall you scorning my ‘dating without commitment’ philosophy.” Gordon had always lectured him that any relationship not heading toward marriage was dishonorable. “Master Ninth, you’re kidding, right?” It had to be a joke. A man like Gordon would never do that.
