Latham just smiled. “Aren’t you scared? There were explosives in the wedding car. Weren’t you worried Carola might have pressed the remote early p>
He’d already told her everything, but Dorothea still felt a chill run through her. The thought of it was enough to make her shiver.
Latham grinned. “There was never anything to be afraid of. Our wedding car didn’t have any explosives. The real ones were in the car we switched out of p>
“When Aldin got out, he swapped the explosives,” Latham explained.
He would never risk his wife’s life with a maniac like Carola.
Dorothea started to say something, but Latham stopped her. “Don’t worry. Aldin won’t say a word. You won’t talk. I won’t either. No one else will ever know p>
Latham was determined to make sure Carola paid for what she’d done. She was too dangerous, like a ticking time bomb. No one knew when she’d blow.
If the grudge couldn’t be resolved, he’d end it before it could really start.
“I’m the one who made you worry,” Dorothea admitted with a laugh.

He hadn’t taken her back to the main house. Instead, he’d cleared out another villa just for them, their own wedding home.
“We’re staying here tonight. Don’t worry. It’s just us. We can try every room in the place, how about that p>
Before Dorothea could answer, he leaned in and his breath was hot against her skin.
Latham wasn’t gentle tonight. All the softness he’d shown at the wedding was gone
now.
Mamie took a deep breath, steadying her nerves as she walked into the hospital with a pot of soup.
“Mamie, you’re here.” Claire’s relief was obvious. She’d been worried Mamie was drifting away from the family.
Josh looked much better than before. “Why are you standing at the door? Come in p>
Mamie was about to ask her question, but a knock at the door cut her off.
“Mom, Dad, Mamie, I’m back.” Adonis strode in, his presence filling the room.
“Adonis, you’re back!” Claire’s face lit up.
Josh’s smile was warm. “I thought you said you’d be busy for a while p>
